He stared at his reflection, Frank's eyes looking darker than usual. The tattooed man messed with the hunting knife in his hands, spinning it between his bandaged fingers. His music was blasting behind him as he watched himself. Smirking, the ragtag group leader moved forward to grab his mask off the bathroom counter, turning to walk out.
Frank leaned against a tree, hidden from view, with his mask on. The sun was setting soon. It was almost time. This waiting was like torture. He studied the corner that their victim would be running from. Glancing over at Joey, who had brought his metal bat, like asked. Joey had used to play baseball until his parents made him give it up because it was 'too expensive.' Like hell it was, they were just cheap bastards that couldn't buy a glove. He knows Joey's dad buys new stereos all the time. They were way more expensive than anything Joey asked for. Joey noticed his staring and turned his head to him, waving. Frank snorted. It's rather funny, actually. How normal they were acting. Susie was still a little hesitant over this whole thing, but she hasn't shown any cues on wanting to leave. Speaking of her, he turned and looked up. She was sitting up in a tree dangling her legs, looking at the sunset. Her hood was down, and her pink hair was glowing in the sun. She seemed kinda unhuman, with her mask on. Everything about this felt so inhuman. He kind of loved this feeling. Feeling like gods, feeling like he had power over life. Who lived and who died, it was all up to him.
Julie was across the street pretending to be on a phone call. She said it was to 'make the girl feel safer going down the street.' But he didn't see why she was getting really into it, as if she had an entire audience watching her. It was kinda amusing. She was the prom queen and the starring role of everything in school. Such a perfect, A+ girl. One that would never commit murder, right? Suddenly a rock was thrown into the street. That was a signal. He immediately looked at Susie, who threw it, alerting them that she was coming. He moved his gaze back towards the corner street. And there she was, the star of the show. Joey flinched, and Julie turned her back to the road, continuing her fake call. Frank felt the need to just walk out and stab the girl to death. But he calmed himself, not yet. That wouldn't be any fun now, would it? He was impulsive by nature, but he could not be right now. He needed to wait. There was something special about the silence through the air as she ran down the street towards them. All you could hear was her steps and breathing. He felt every sense heightened while staring her down.
She ran right past him, making Frank hold his breath, watching her brown hair flow into the wind. He waited a second before moving his hand, giving the signal for Joey. Joey moved around the tree, running behind her raising his bat and slamming it down on her head with a sickening crack. The girl tumbled to the ground, blood splattering on the concrete. He needed to act fast. He shot out, running over and helping Joey pull her limp body into the forest. Julie and Susie stayed back to clean the blood as they planned. After a few minutes, Frank felt annoyed with dragging her, so he moved down and picked her up, throwing her over his shoulder. Shit, he needs to work out more. He stumbled but soon caught his footing. He took a deep breath and started walking further in the forest. Joey followed silently, probably shocked that he actually went through with it. After a few minutes, Frank broke that silence."Did you have to hit her that hard? Thought ya killed the bitch" Joey flinched and then muttered a small sorry. Frank rolled his eyes at him and laughed.
"Dude, you did fine. Calm down. To be honest, I'm impressed, didn't know you could swing that hard '' He didn't even need to look over to know Joey was basking in the praise as Frank continued to look for it, the perfect spot. The ideal place to make the stage. By how hard Joey hit the poor girl, he knows he has some time to get things ready. His eyes landed on a big tree in the middle of shrubbery. Turning his head to the side as he debated, then finally picked it. By this time, they were very deep in the forest, and the sun was almost gone. He placed the girl on the ground.
"Go get the girls," Frank ordered as he pulled out the rope. He tied her hands loosely around the tree. Purposely lose. After he finished, he stayed sitting there staring at the girl. Bringing his hand up, he brushed the hair out of her face. He stilled, staring at the girl. He really wanted to see her in pain. He heard footsteps, moving his head to the sound, seeing the girls and Joey walk out of the trees. He stood up acknowledging them. They nodded at him, showing him they were ready. So far, everything has gone according to plan. Looking at the sky, it was dark, too dark. They took too long, oh well. It cannot all be perfect, can it? He looked over at Joey, telling him to go make a fire. The little sheep followed the order of his leader, collecting all the sticks he could find. Luckily Frank had lighter fluid and a lighter on hand. He tossed it to the taller male. There was still a small layer of snow in the area, as the forest was on the mountain. It was especially cold. Frank sat down, resting his arm on his leg, staring at the girl in case she woke up. Julie and Susie stood behind him, talking. They were shivering. Frank told them to bring layers. He wanted the fire for them, but also so he can see Abigail's face when she wakes up.
Once the fire was lit, he stood up and turned to them, motioning for them to hide. They all ran into separate areas, just the way we planned. He turned towards his catch and pulled out the bottle he made. He tested it out, so he knows it works. Leaning down, he brought it under her nose. Her head jerked backward immediately, trying to get away from the smell. Her eyes fluttered open, scrunching her face up in pain. She tried to pull her arms around herself, but they did not budge. Now feeling alert, she looked around in panic, and her eyes settled on him. Fear, he shivered, but it was not from the cold. He liked that look on her. She opened her mouth, and he knew she was going to scream. He shot forward, covering her mouth and pulling out his knife, placing it against to her neck.
"Shhhhh, none of that" She gulps around the knife. He felt her breathing through the blade. She started trembling, looking up at him terrified, with those big doe eyes. She was just making Frank want to hurt her more. He releases her mouth, knowing she won't scream unless she had a death wish.
"You know. Your really stupid, running out here all alone every day" Frank glided the tip of his knife along the trembiling girl's neck, up and down right along the artery. Her eyes widened even further at the realization that she had been being watched. For days it seemed.
"W-why?" Her voice cracked, the words tumbling past her lips in a frightened squeak.
"Why are you doing this to me!?" Frank could only laugh. The adrenaline coursing through his veins only pounded louder as her fear grew. He loved the look that settled in her eyes. That fear, that desperate want to escape, like an animal caught in a trap. Frank felt like a predator. He was the hunter.
Hell.
He was fucking God right now.
