Sunlight dapples my bare skin as it shines in through the window. I blink and adjust to the light, tired eyelids threaten to sink back to sleep. The only thing that stirs me from my grog is the empty spot where Nancy had slept. Her body left an imprint in my mattress and I snile to myself. I can't believe that was real.

The smell of bacon fills the air and I trudge downstairs. Nancy stands in the kitchen, working away at the stove. "Having fun?" I tease and she turns around wearing a grin.

Her hair was messy and lost the majority of its curl, she looked even prettier like this- her raw and natural self.

"I was making us breakfast" she hums sweetly.

Helping her I get us plates and utensils, sitting beside eachother on the living room couch we quietly eat. "Nancy?"

She pauses her meal to make eye contact "yeah?"

"So, whats next? For us" I murmur. I felt so nervous all over again like her response could either crush or uplift me.

"I- I don't know" she stammers "I've never been with a girl before and I don't even know if I should be getting into a relationship right now, I only just broke up with Johnathan"

I purse my lips thinking it over. When I first accepted I liked girls it was hard for me so I know how she feels. "We can take it slow, nothing has to be... official" I suggest.

She looks displeased. "Slow like? What?"

I shrug a little "you know we don't need to label anything, we care about eachother and that's all that matters"

Her delicate lips tug up at the corners "I like the sound of that"

I let her borrow some clothes after she goes for a shower. The sleeves of my jacket hang over her hands emphasising our different proportions.

"Can I stay a while?" She asks.

My heart beats loudly in my ears, of course I want her to stay. "Yeah! Wanna like watch a movie or something?"

She nods and I run around trying to find some good suggestions. 'Back to the future' that certainly had some memories attached. 'Poltergeist' could be fun.

"Scary or non scary movie?" I ask Nancy who sits stretched out on the couch.

"Scary" she grins.

Poltergeist it is.

Halfway in I notice Nancy flinching at every loud noise coming from the TV. I loop mt arm around her and she burries herself into the crook of my neck.

Again I just couldn't help become intoxicated by her lavender scent and soft skin. I could barley pay attention to the movie but I didn't really care I've seen it dozens of times by now.

Finally the credits roll and we both remove ourselves from our seats. "What time is it?" Nance questions with a yawn.

I look at the clock. No not a grandfather clock, a very normal clock. "One ish"

She makes an 'o' shape with her mouth, eyes growing wide. "I'm so late!" She huffs dashing about collecting her things together.

"For what?" I laugh at her as she flaps around.

"I still have to uphold my offer to Mr Munson" she explains "I know Eddie..."

Her silence is thundering and heavy. She doesn't need to continue for me to get it "you're still going to share his side of the story in the paper you do"

Scrunching her face up she mumbles a "yes"

"Can i help in any way?" I offer hopefully, I wanted to be around her. Her presence was like a drug.

Her eyes gain a lively gleam as she connects our gazes "are you sure?"

"Yeah my parents would probably be back soon to complain about the state of the bouse or something if I stayed"

Her cheeks burn with a light pink and she averts her eyes "sorry"

"Don't be. They'd complain about a speck of dust left of the windowsill it's how they are"

And with that we were in Nancy's car blasting the beatles.
