"Have you ever been punched in your motherfuckin' face?
What you say?
Oh, you haven't?
Alright, wait, bitch"

Jaxon's POV:

"The human has been placed in cell 14, my lord." One of my men calls out from where he stands next to the door.

"Very well. I'll be there." I say to him. He bows his head before leaving the room.

The door burst open again when Oliver comes in. His face is contorted in anger, slightly pink.

"You captured a human! A human! And you didn't tell me! I'm your most trusted guard! You have to tell me these things!" He speaks loudly, voice booming throughout the room.

I sit back in my chair comfortable as I wait for him to finish, not wanting to waste my energy on this fool. I have too many things to think about. The danger Noa's in, the boy in cell 14, and the ball being in a few days. Who does he think he is?

"What I choose to say to you or not to say to you is my business. Don't ever barge in my office again demanding things. Know your place, pup. Or shall I kick you back to the same hole I found you in?" I say, staying calm.

Oliver was a rogue when I found him. He had been banished from his pack and in the woods for a few days when he got attacked by some other wolves. I found him laying in a ditch practically dead. I was going to leave him, but when I saw his form I knew he would be a good guard, so I helped him instead.

"As for the human, stay out of it, unless you're told otherwise. Am I understood?" I cut the conversation.

A slight scowl forms on Oliver's face. Nonetheless, he nods, bowing his head once quickly before leaving the room.

I do not want him anywhere near Ben. While he is one of my most trusted men, the less people that know about this, the better. I don't want people to find out who he is and what he used to be to Noa. It's none of their business, and even if I wanted to tell them, Noa wouldn't want people knowing that about her.

Besides, Oliver has been acting a bit off in the past few days. He had mentioned to me that he was looking for a life partner, as he could not find his mate. Maybe someone has his knickers in a twist. Still, I will not allow him to undermine me or my decisions.

I stand up from my chair, stepping out of the door in my office and making my way to the cells to have a chat with Ben.

After Noa found that note in her room, there's no doubt in mine or Kieran's mind that it was Ben. That asshole just doesn't know when to stop. He deserves to die.

I have to do it without Noa knowing though. It pains me to lie to her but if she ever finds out I killed Ben, she would blame herself. She can never know, I wouldn't be able to live with myself. I'll just make it look like he died from 'natural causes'.

Where is Kieran? I told him to come here with me. Elijah wanted to speak to him as well, but somebody has to stay with Noa. I can't afford anything happening to her.

"Asshole's in cell 14. Heading there now." I mind link Kieran.

I know he heard me but still, he doesn't respond. Typical Kieran.

I walk down the dingy hallways of the prison until I reach the large metal door with the number fourteen above it. It's unlocked, meaning Kieran's in there already.

I grip the handle on the heavy door pulling it open.

Closing it behind me I look up to see Ben practically suspended in the air. One rope held each of his hands, which I could see were red and raw. His feet were barely in the air, only the tips of his toes were touching the ground so his wrists wouldn't snap at his body weight.

There were a few cuts on his face and his shirt was off, showcasing more small cuts and bruises. I told the men that captured him to rough him up just a little. I'll upgrade their pay for this.

"Let me go you assholes! I fucking knew you were psychopaths!" Ben screams as he sees me enter the cell.

Kieran was leaning smoothly against the wall in front of him, listening to his screams. He had a slight smirk on his face, most likely from seeing Ben in pain.

I walk up closer to Ben, rolling up the sleeves of my dress shirt as I approach him. I don't plan on hurting him, unless he doesn't answer my questions. I'll save the torturing for another, Elijah would like to be a part of it.

"I haven't done anything to you! Just let me go!" He becomes more desperate, now pleading.

I scoff, "You're wrong. You have done something to me. You've hurt something that I love very much. I just can't stand that."

"What? What have I hurt? I'll replace it! I'll fix it!" He speaks loudly, genuinely confused.

This kid is dumb as rocks.

I pick up a sharp knife and wave it around subtly in the air, running my fingertip along the blade. I want to spark some fear into him, it'll make him answer the questions easier. I could always compel him, but I try not to resort to that unless I have to, since it makes me feel weak afterwards.

"Noa." I speak.

His face pales and mouth drops open slightly.

"What- No- I- Whatever she told you is a lie. She's crazy. A complete attention whore-"

He's cut off from speaking, instead letting out a cry when a whip cracks against his chest. I look to my right and see Kieran standing with the weapon in his hand.

"Watch your mouth." Is all he says before putting the whip down and walking back to where he was standing against the wall.

"Why are you so obsessed with her, huh?" I ask, walking slowly back and forth.

"I'm not-"

"Oh but you are. She broke up with you and still you break into her room, leave notes, and have the nerve to call her crazy?"

"What are you talking about? I haven't broken into her room or left any note! I don't even know where she lives! Come on, please, just let me go!" He pleads with me frantically, beginning to cry.

I stop pacing, my blood runs cold as he speaks. He has to be lying. He must be the one that's out to kill her.

"Stop lying, bitch." Kieran speaks up behind me.

"I didn't leave any fucking note, okay? I don't know what you're talking about. Just let me go, please." He sounds like a broken record.

I walk up closer to him and grab his chin harshly, forcing him to look at me. I compel him before saying, "Tell the truth. Did you leave the note in her room?"

"No." He says back, with a dazed expression on his face.

I stumble backwards slightly in shock. How could we be wrong? I turn to look at Kieran, who looks like he's seen a ghost.

We thought we had him. Someone's still out to get her. She's still in danger.

Fuck.
