"I said, 'ooh, girl
Shock me like an electric eel
Baby girl
Turn me on with your electric feel'"
————————————————I wake up with a start, excited for the day. I look around the room, seeing all of Elijah's things just the way we'd left them last night. I turn my jeans to look at the bed next to me, and see Elijah gone.
He probably woke up early to surprise me or something.
Today is my twenty third birthday and I am so fricking excited I could be bouncing off the walls. I get ready, dressing up in a pretty pink and red sweater with a heart cutout in the middle and jeans.
It seems pretty basic but I decided to wait to see what they have planned before I pick a real outfit.
It's been a few months since I pretty much died. A lot has changed again. I've gained all of Cadia's powers some of which include, mind linking, super speed, telekinesis, and mind reading. So, I guess I'm pretty cool now.
Although, I really don't know how to control them. Agnes says they come to me when I feel an overwhelming emotion. She's helping me with control and so are my guys, I improve a little everyday.
Agnes also says I'm immortal and that I'll stop aging soon. I'm not sure if I believe her yet, but she hasn't been wrong yet so I have no reason not to trust her.
How would that even work?
Like if I have a pimple the moment I stop aging, is it going to stay on my face forever? Oh God, I actually hope not. I would find a way to kill myself even though I'm immortal.
I make my way downstairs, hearing and seeing nothing. Where are they?
I love birthdays and after all that I've went through, I think it's fair to say that I deserve to be celebrated.
I check every room in the house. They're all empty. Nobody in sight.
I feel sadness build up inside of me when I realize they forgot my birthday. I wonder where they are.
It's okay. It's easy to forget things. I won't hold it against them.
Still, I can't help but feel terrible as I make my way to the couch and sit down. I check my phone, seeing no messages. Not even from Luke.
Now that's a bit strange. Luke's never been the one to forget anything. But maybe something else came up and it slipped his mind.
I turn on the TV to an old random sitcom, not even watching it since I can't stop thinking about my birthday. I wish I wasn't alone.
I mean it's not like I want gifts or a huge party. All I want is a simple 'Happy Birthday, Noa.' and someone to sit here and watch this crappy sitcom with me. I don't want to be alone.
I spend the next hour watching the screen, then I begin to hear some rustling and talking outside.
I immediately get up from the couch, walking to the kitchen to get a knife. But when I hear the talking getting louder coming from the backyard, I grab the closest thing to me and decide to just confront whatever is out there.
I run out the back door. I feel an arm grab my waist and pull me closer to a body. I close my eyes tightly.
No way. I'm not getting fricking kidnapped again.
I put the utensil I grabbed from the kitchen to use, hitting the person with it, eyes still shut.
"Ow. Ow. Ow." I hear. Good. It's working. I continue smacking the person behind me in what I think is their head.
"Noa. Stop! Why are you hitting me? I was just trying to say happy birthday!" I hear a familiar voice.
I stop, opening my eyes, and twist around in their grip to see Elijah. I look down at my hand and see the wooden spoon I was hitting him with, dropping it when so realize his words.
My arms go around his neck in a hug, "You remembered!"
He hugs me back, pressing a quick kiss to my lips before saying, "Of course I did, angel."
I step back looking at Jaxon and Kieran arguing about something. Kieran had shiny streamers in his hand.
"We went to go get some stuff for the party." He says matter-of-factly behind me.
"Party?" I turn back around to face him.
"Well, Luke and Anthony and a few other people. Not really a party, but still."
A bright smile lights up my face and he turns to do something else as I walk towards Kieran and Jaxon.
I stand next to where they were having their argument, them not even noticing me there.
"You idiot! They're not gonna look good there!" Kieran screams at Jaxon who scoffs and walks off.
Kieran finally turns to look at me, his face softening immediately. The large hand that wasn't holding the streamers, presses against my lower back, pulling me closer to him. He dips his head down, pulling me into a way longer kiss than the one I shared with Elijah.
He pulls away, bringing his face down to my neck in a hug.
"Happy birthday, baby." He mumbles, before going back to putting up the streamers against the wall.
I walk off after saying my thanks, going over to Jaxon to finish my rounds. He's finishing off setting up a table when I stand next to him.
He instantly gravitates towards me, gripping the back of my neck and lowering his head to connect our lips in a passionate kiss.
Pulling away after a short while he says, "So, twenty-three, huh? What do you want for your birthday?"
He says it in a husky tone, and I think he was expecting me to say something nasty back, but I come up with something better instead.
"A piggyback ride." I say excitedly.
His face slightly falls but he still gets down, allowing me to crawl on his back and wrap my arms and legs around him. He stands up and I awe at the view.
Is this how it feels like to be six feet tall?
I feel huge right now. I love it.
I'm going to buy huge heels so I can be six feet tall all the time. I'd probably break my ankles.
Eh, Jaxon's piggyback ride will do for now.
I lay my head down on his shoulder, closing my eyes as he moves around with ease, setting up for my party.
I await the guests peacefully, feeling so in love and content. I realize, I've never been happier in my life.
Happy birthday to me.
