Hope Spot (I Love Him)

I know it won't play out

Like a storybook romance

But after my life so far

I might as well give it a chance

We could be good if not great

We won't be perfect

And after my recent disasters

I might deserve this

I've learned the hard way

What does and doesn't work

This one allows me to love him

And it doesn't hurt

For once my mind is calm and peaceful

My chest doesn't hurt

And sometimes life is beautiful

I wonder if he could ever love me too?

I guess I'll wait and see

Cause what else can I really do?

He doesn't need me

But I'd prefer him to want me anyway

That way it's much less likely

That I'll be replaced

And I want this man forever

So I'll do the best I can in my endeavor
