Danielle Rose Russell as Hope Xavier
Hope's POV Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, a school my parents decided to create so mutants didn't have to hide their gifts from a world that may fear them for it. Growing up you are told who are the good and bad people of the world. In my parents childhood my father looked as his powers as a gift. Whereas my mother viewed herself as a monster until she met my father. I am not sure how I see myself just yet. I am not afraid of my power but I am trying to control my emotions all at the same time. Shrugging on my jacket with the schools sign on my right arm I walked down the stairs trying not to bump into all the other students moving about. I haven't been alone in this school since I was a baby from what I am told. Some students even call me Little X since my father is Professor X and my mother Golden Flare
Hugging my notebook to my chest I roamed the hall seeing my father teaching the younger students by reading a passage from a book on his lap. "Let us now start fresh without remembrance, rather than live forward and backwards at the same time. Now, what on earth do we think that author meant...when he wrote a that..." He turned back towards the door noticing me and I glanced over my shoulder seeing two boys walking up with mom. "That's going to be your assignment for tomorrow. Top marks, everyone. Class dismissed." All the children got to their feet leaving the room as I tuck hair behind my ear smiling at him. "Alex, it's good to see you." My father grinned when the guy leans down hugging him. "Yeah you too. Who's this little one?" He pointed to me ruffling my hair playfully with a grin. My mother stepped around a boy with a bandages over his eyes, resting her freehand on my father's shoulder. Showing off her ring on her left hand to the Alex guy.
"Ah I knew you two would tie the knot eventually." Alex smirked when both my parents turned red at his statement which I haven't seen unless you count when I caught them kissing when I was seven years old. My father scratches the back of his neck eyeing me with a thought cry. "Help us out sweetie." I sent a reply back to him. "Got ya." Sticking my left hand forward I introduced myself to the Alex guy whose a friend of theirs clearly. "Hi I'm Hope, their daughter. It's nice to meet you. Who's the boy wearing bandages?" I have my father's manners to not pry into a person's mind freely. "This is my brother, Scott. It's nice to meet you too little Xavier." My father had regained his focus squeezing my mother's hand on his shoulder. "Hello Scott, welcome to the school for the Gifted." Scott scoffed standing still. "It doesn't exactly feel like a gift." Mom tilts her head motioning for everyone to follow us outside letting my father go first in his wheelchair. "It never does at first. Come on let's see what you can do Scott."
Our group walks out onto the lawn where there's a pond that separated us from the trees on the other side. One of the trees being my father's favorite that he and my mother got married under when I was an infant. My father put his wheelchair to a stop with my mother standing beside him. Jean Grey another telepath watched us pausing her archery practice she was doing. "The first step in learning to control one's power is to learn the extent of it. Now why don't you take off you bandages and see what we're dealing with here." Alex took off his brother's bandages but the boy doesn't open his eyes for a moment. My father starts to reach over to encourage until two red Lazer beams shot from Scott's eyes. I jumped backwards alongside my mother. My father covered his head with his arm watching the energy go across the pond sticking his favorite tree. "Bloody awesome!" I mumbled under my breath rising from my ducking position on the ground. "Holy crap.." Mother lowered her arms from over her head eyeing my father in shock and slight awe seeing a red line going up the middle of the tree.
"My grandfather planted that tree when he was five years old - I used to swing from the branches as a child." My father chuckled nervously trying to find the right words hearing the tree snapping. Right before our eyes the tree broke in two causing students around to start wondering who had destroyed it. "That was the tree I got married under, Alex.." Mother told the boy rubbing a hand down her arm. "I think that was probably my favorite tree...wouldn't you say Aurora?" Father moved his sunglasses up a little on his nose still baffled that it just happened before his eyes. Scott keeps his eyes closed asking completely terrified they would be angry. "Does that mean I'm expelled?" Both my parents just snorted in laughter making me smile at the boy even though he couldn't see me. "On the contrary. You're enrolled." I walk off hearing my father breathing in awe. "If I had known yesterday was the last we would sit underneath that tree Rora. I would have savored the moment more." My mother climbed in his lap laying her head on his chest whispering calmly. "Awe I'm sorry baby. I'll find a student who has the ability to save plants. Hopefully they can fix it." He kisses her forehead before I spun around the corner running off to find my friend Charlie.
