The Acmendelle kingdom seemed quiet this night. Nothing but the sounds of fireflies buzzing in the air and crickets chirping outside in the snow covered grass, the nightly moon shining brightly on it's castle and all of the kingdom's inhabitants' places of rest. Inside the castle lies prince Yakko, one of three siblings who inhabited it, peacefully sleeping in his bed. That didn't last long, however, as his brother, Wakko, had other plans. Sneaking up to the bedside, soon climbing up on his eldest sibling, he nudges him gently.

"Yakko... Yakko!"  he says in a whisper.

"Wake up, I got a question!"

The oldest sibling groans before opening his eyes slowly, now turning gently to face his brother.

"Mmm.. what is it, Wakko..?"  he asks in a tired voice.

Wakko, having now successfully woken up his brother, grins from ear to ear as he asks,"Wanna build some snowmen?"

Now having heard the words come off his brother's lips, Yakko suddenly starts to feel more awake, grinning from ear to ear as well as he sits up in his bed."Go get Dot,"  he says, referring to their younger sister, soon throwing his blanket and sheets aside and quickly but quietly exiting the room into the castle hall.

Wakko quickly followed soon after, now turning towards another room opposite of his older brother's direction to retrieve their sister Dot. As he did so, Yakko took some time to use his fascinating powers to form snowflakes. As the snowflakes fall, the snow builds up, making it just as snowy inside as it was currently outside. He became very proud of himself, soon rolling snow here and there to make snowballs for the snowmen that were going to be.. decently created by him and his brother.

It wasn't long till his brother came wobbling towards him with their younger sister, who was currently in a bit of a fit, in his arms, soon plopping her down into the snow. This seemed to make her much happier after her cranky spell from being woken up so abruptly. As she began to laugh and play, her older brothers took it upon themselves to do some playing of their own. They began to roll up more snow and create two mice and some snowmen. Yakko, however, soon becomes a little creative and forms small ice formations in the shape of their mom and dad, King William and Queen Angelina.

This seemed to please both of his siblings as Dot looked at these formations in awe, Wakko doing the same. And, being the little adventurous type, the younger brother stands up from his previous position in the snow.

"Yakko, Yakko! Help me step up to the ceiling! I wanna touch the ceiling!"  he says with an excited squeal.

Yakko looks at Wakko. And being just as adventurous and confident in his powers, nods and begins to go into a readying position. Not long after, as their youngest sister watches, Wakko backs up and gets a running head start, jumping up and allowing his brother to form thick, rectangular ice steps underneath his feet. However, he starts to become quite fast, speeding up his jumps.

"Wakko, slow down! I can't keep up!"  Yakko starts to plead, but just as he says this, the unthinkable happens. Right before Wakko can get another step in, a shot of Yakko's magic hits him in his head, causing him to fall straight down into the snow below.

"Wakko!!"  Yakko yells, now slipping a bit as he rushes towards his brother, nudging his limp body once he falls to his knees, Dot now sniffling and crying, being unable to fully process what had just happened.

"Mom!! Dad!!"  he screams with tears now in his eyes, unfazed by his sister's constant wailing.

Now having heard their son's cries, King William and Queen Angelina rush out of their room and into the hall, seeing the snow, ice, and their children in distress. Angelina picks up Dot, trying to comfort her with horror and shock written all over her face. Meanwhile, William kneels down beside Yakko and Wakko.

"Yakko, what happened??" William asked frantically, picking up Wakko's limp body quickly, standing up as he does so.

"I.. I don't know! It was an accident! I didn't mean to!" Yakko quickly states, standing up and backing away a bit, his heart pounding quickly in his chest as his throat becomes dry.

"It doesn't matter now, we must get him seen!"  William says reassuringly and worriedly, soon looking over at his Queen. "Have someone retrieve my horse. I know where we need to go."

Angelina doesn't hesitate, quickly running to fetch someone who can help with Dot still in her arms. It isn't long before everyone is outside of the castle gates, William's horse completely saddled up.

"I will return soon. Yakko, you stay here and look after your mother."  William states in a serious tone as he places Wakko onto his horse, jumping onto the saddle not long after.

"But I want to go with you!" Yakko pleads.

"No, you must stay here. I won't be long. Now go."  William orders as he then let's out a "Hiyah!" and lifts up the stirrups, his horse soon running farther and farther away from the gates, disappearing into some far out woods not long after.

Time after that seemed to go by so slow. Minutes seemed like hours and hours felt like an eternity. After Dot was put back to bed, Angelina had come to check up on young Yakko, who was currently in his room. It was deathly silent. Then, suddenly, there were soft knocks.

"Yakko.. sweetheart.. may I come in..?"  her sweet, soft, muffled voice came in through the door as her knocks slowed.

Repeating images of what Yakko had done to Wakko had already started to play in his mind. It was like a horror movie replaying one single clip. Even though it was an accident, he couldn't help but feel incredibly guilty for what happened. Maybe he should've said no to the demands that were given by his younger brother. Maybe this wouldn't of happened then if he hadn't of been so confident. Though, soon, the sounds of the knocks snapped him out of his head, his thoughts..

"..Yes,"  Yakko says in a silent voice, followed soon after with small sniffles.

The door handle slowly turned, the door to the room soon opening. Angelina walks in and slowly approaches her oldest son, sitting next to him and pulling him into a gentle hug.

"We'll get this sorted out.. don't you worry.." she says in a soothing voice and reassuring tone.

"Everything will be okay.."

It didn't seem like this would be the case in Yakko's mind. He knew this wouldn't be the end. It couldn't be..
