A loud knock comes from the other side of my bedroom door causing me to open my eyes but I shut them due to the bright sunlight coming through the curtains " Octavia get up" letting out a small groan I turn over and toss the blanket over my head, " No" I grumble, snuggling into my pillows getting comfortable once again. There's another loud knock, " O now, or you won't go back to the boardwalk" my father said, sighing I push the blanket away from my face, and kick it off my body " I'm up" I yell just loud enough to hear from the other side of the door. Asshole. Letting out a groan, I sit up, my eyes drift over to the window, the sun was already high in the sky, the warm California air flowing into my bedroom. What time is it?. I grab my phone and push the side button " Damn" I mumble when I see that it's already eleven. My stomach growls causing me to huff, getting up I walk towards my duffel bag, and pulling out a pair of shorts and a Guns and Roses shirt with the sides missing down to my last rib, grabbing everything I make my way towards the bathroom in need of a shower.
" How did you sleep?" swallowing my food, I give a light shrug as I pick up my fork stabbing the pasta salad, " Fine" I said before taking a bite and looking back down at the comic. My father sat infront of me with a cup of coffee, and his own sandwich with a side of pasta salad, the newspaper he was reading sat in front of him"Whatcha reading?" He asks, holding the comic up he glances at it before looking away, the uneasy look coming back " I should of bought one but I just wanted to get out of there and away from that crazy boy" I mumble, looking back down as I flip the page, "Plus it was free" I pick up my sandwich taking a bite, "Yeah, I mean come on vampires" my father said, I let out a small chuckle as I flip the page again only to find the back of the comic. I push the comic away from me, and grab my glass of juice, "Maybe stay away from that comic shop" he said, I look at my father with an eyebrow raised, shaking my head I sigh. There's no way I'd stay away from it, "That's the only comic shop here in town, besides just because the boys were weird doesn't mean they're harmful" I said, before taking a drink and setting my glass down. Standing up I grab my empty plate " Have you heard from Sam?" my father shook his head causing me to frown. Walking to the sink I rinse my plate off before sitting it down, it's been months since I seen my uncle and I was starting to get worried, " I did hear from your mother-" "Nope" I said, while turning around and heading towards the stairs, stopping only for a moment to look at the double doors on my left, "Octavia, she's your mother, you need to talk to her" he said, rolling my eyes I turn around looking at my father, he was still sitting down, cup in hand "I'll talk to her once she apologizes, until then I'm unavailable" I snap before turning around and running up the stairs. I slam my bedroom door shut and sit down on my bed, I pick up my phone to see a message from my mother. Speak of the Devil and they shall appear. In this case in a text message. Not bothering to even read the message I delete it, if she wants to talk to me she'll have to apologize first and not no half ass apology either. Letting out a huff, I flip onto my back, looking at my phone it was only two. Opening my search, I type in Hudson Bluff. After a few seconds, a picture of a some cliffs and a cave comes up, I start to read up on it, there wasn't a lot of information on the place. Huh, guess a small trip wouldn't hurt. I stand up and grab my leather jacket tossing it on before walking downstairs. To my surprise my father wasn't in kitchen, sighing I walk outside and over to my bike. Getting on I look around finally noticing my fathers truck gone. Wonder where he went. It would of been nice for him to tell me he was leaving. Starting my bike I sit there for a few moments letting it warm up. Looking around I frown when I notice large pointed stakes sticking out of the ground here and there. What's the point. Revving my bike a few times I take off down the gravel drive being carful not to go to fast.
After a while of driving and a few wrong turns I finally make it. The sound of the waves hitting the rocks cause a shiver to go down my spine. I get off my bike looking at the setting sun, it was pretty from here, my eyes drift around coming to a spot that had a ramp leaning to a set of stairs and a keep out sign. Curiosity getting the better of me I look around for cameras or other people, not seeing anyone around I shrug and get off my bike. I know it says no trespassing but a little look wouldn't hurt. I make my way towards the stairs , my eyes drift down them and over the area, before settling on the opening to the cave. Giving one last look around, I slowly make my way down the old steps. Reaching the bottom I notice the old wood fencing and more signs. Giving a shrug I walk past it all, if anything I could outrun the cops or whoever if need be. I did have a bike so it'll be easily to go off road if I have to.
