Tomorrow I'm going to a mission. It consists of killing King Harrow of Katolis and his son Prince Ezran.
Although I was trained since childhood to become an assassin, I am a little stressed about this mission.

It was night, we were in the forest, hiding from a human from the royal guard.
The man suddenly heard a sound on the side we were hiding, so he raised his crossbow ready to shot.
« Who's there ?! » He yelled.
« Decline yourself in the name of King Harrow ! »
Suddenly, lighting flashed, making our shadows appear in the dark of night.
The man, panicked, by missing his shot, shot at a tree next to us before fleeing.
Runaan looked at Rayla before she nod and go to follow the man.

Later, Rayla was finally back at camp, with something on her blades which was clearly not blood.
« Well done, Rayla » Said Runaan.
« Yeah, I use both of them » She answered awkwardly.
« I can see that » he said, giving her a handkerchief to clean her blades.
After that she came and sat next to me.
« You didn't kill him huh ? » I asked.
« Yeah... » She answered.
« I couldn't do it. I-I just saw fear in his eyes, I couldn't... » She continue, with a little sadness in her voice.
« It's doesn't matter » I told her with a reassuring smile.

Some hours later, we all were reunited and Runaan start talking.
« Four full moons past on the eve of the winter's turn, the humans crossed into Xadia and murdered the king of the dragons. Then they destroyed his only egg, the Dragon Prince »
« Tonight we bind our lives to justice ! » He continued.
« My breath for freedom ! »
« My eyes for truth ! »
« My strength for honor ! »
« My blood for justice ! »
« My heart for Xadia ! »
« My soul for peace ! » I said while my dad bound my wrists.
« Life is precious, life is valuable, we take it, but we do not take it lightly » He continued.
« Moon reflect sun, as death reflect life ! » Said Rayla after that Runaan bound her wrists.
« When it is done, I will send a shadow-hawk to the queen of the dragons »
« We strike when the moon is highest ! » He finished.
Everybody was leaving by Rayla came to my dad.
« Huh Runaan ? » She said.
« What is it, Rayla ? »
« I was wondering...What if they know we're coming ? » She asked.
« We have the advantage of surprise, If we act fast, we will accomplish our goals without sacrifice » He answered before leaving.

Later in the day, we were polishing our blades, when a butterfly landed on one of Runaan's arrows.
« They know we're here ! » He suddenly yelled.
Me and Rayla looked at each other, already knowing that it was the man that she couldn't kill who had reported that we were there.
We all got up, and Runaan broke his collar and said « Mystica-Arbora ! »
Some seconds later a man from the royal guard with blond hair appear with any other guard, he sighed.
« Nothing ! Surprising no one, a magic moth is just as worthless as a regular moth. We'll have to wait for the elves to come to us » He said before leaving.
But the man who Rayla was supposed had been killed was there, staring at the place that we were supposing to be a few seconds before leaving too.
« You lied to me. You let him go ! » Runaan shouted at Rayla.
« Runaan, I'm sorry ! » She answered.
« The human...he looked up at me and I saw the fear in his eyes » She continued.
« Of course he was afraid. But you had one job to do ! »
« He didn't do anything to me ! How could I take his life ? »
« You let him live...but you've killed us all ! » Runaan finally shouted before leaving.

Later in the day we were polishing our blades.
« Hey, could I borrow your sharpener thingie ? » She asked awkwardly.
« Whetstone ? » Asked the other elf.
« Yeah, that »
« No » He answered coldly.
She then looked at me with a desperate face.
« Can I-» She started.
« Yeah, you can take mine » I cut her off smiling at her.
« Thank you (Y/N) » She said smiling back at me.
« No problems » I answered.
