the way your words weave
around my neck,
clawing at my conscious and time itself,
is enough to make me drown.you were always criminally ethereal,
floating in star fields and galaxies alike.
no one could tether you to this mortal plane
but i tried.i used to be hopeful
innocence only a little kid can maintain.
i wanted to be an astronaut, but every star
i yearned to study was here all along.your presence replaced the presents i never got
on christmas eve
when i saw you, not even gravity
could pull me back together.maybe we weren't meant to be here
in this time, where fatigue is all we see.
you've convinced me to see more than
glossed eyes and porcelain masks.your touch cascades down the spine of my aspirations. hold me down, please. i don't want to lose grasp of real i t y
