"Cordelia! Cordelia!" Mama bursted into my room, while Emma was tightening my corset. "What? Is everything okay, mama?" Little worry got me thinking something had happened.

"Everything is more than okay. Have you seen latest Lady Whistledown, what she wrote." She handed me piece of paper and quickly I recognised, it was Lady Whistledown newest post.

"Cordelia Anderton got quite the Queen's eyes on her. Now she is the season's most spoken young lady who has intelligence and beauty. Many gentlemen tried their luck with her last night, but she knows her value. If I was you, I would but my trust on her"

"Will she be our next diamond of the season? And what's most important, will she marry this season? And who?" My breath got heavier after reading this day news. Now everyone knows, my season won't be easy as I imagined.

"Well? Is this amazing! At last something positive. Aren't you happy dear?" Mama asked with little smile on her face. She was happy for me.

"I'm not sure, mama. I do not know how to react.. It is quite shocking."

I did not like when people thought, I would marry them just because they are wealthy and handsome. If I ever marry it is for love, for true love.

"What do you truly find so pleasing, about those books?" Benedict asked. Eloise looked him, raising her eyebrows to him. "It would be good for you too to read, you could get maybe little bit civilised more, brother." She napped. He was going to open his mouth once again when Lady Bridgerton interrupted.

"Anthony, did you find any fine lady last evening?"

" They all were the same, every lady waited me to ask them to dance. What languages they can speak, what they can do, how many children they would want."

"I'm sure you will find some suitable lady to yourself. How about Miss Anderton, she seemed nice."

She had something that got my attention on her," She.. yet I do not have opinion about her."

"Does that mean you have not rejected her? She could be excellent choice to you, Anthony. Maybe you should meet her today." Lady Bridgerton said with little joy in her voice.

"Mother, I am going see her, anyway, in today's ball." His voice not so excited. "But we should not hurry with it before Queen decides her diamond of the season."

"Will you marry her then, brother?" Benedict asked. Anthony turned to him. "I shall marry her then."

"But what if she does not want to marry you? What you will do then?" Benedict did not stop harassing his brother.

"Hussh Benedict! Of course she will, who ever marries Anthony will accept his properly." Lady Bridgerton said with cold tone that was meant to Benedict.

We were on our way to the Queen's ball, mama said this ball was important because queen would decide who is next, diamond of the season. "Mama after queen decides her diamond, will this be over?" I was bored already, I was wasting my time.

"After this ball the game is just beginning. I know you do not enjoy this. But it will go fast by, you cannot know if you meet someone who has the same values as you. At leats try, dear?"

I did not look at her, I'm not sure do I want to try. "I will do this because of you." Mama smiled little, she was happy I continued my season.

Ballroom was big and glorious, little gold details all over the room. You could see Queen sitting on a some kinda throne, welcoming guests in. It was coming our turn.
"Lady Anderton and your beautiful daughter, Miss Cordelia Anderton."
