Anthony stormed to living room with happy news. "Mother, brothers I can confirm you all that Miss Cordelia is joining us to the Aubrey Hall." He looked happy, it was good news.

His mother had immediately dropped her needle and sewing work and quickly rose up. "Oh! Isn't this delightful! How did she react, when you asked her?" She asked eagerly.

"She was happy to join us, I sensed that this was exactly what she needed, little time off in the country side." Happy smile coming to his face. Secretly Anthony had wished her to come because he needed someone to be for him there, not that his family wouldn't be there with him but someone who he knew could count on.

After little time when everyone else had left the room, Lady Bridgerton sat little closer to his son, who was reading latest newspaper. "So..?" Lady Bridgerton started, hoping to get his son attention. "Have you thought, if this might be it?"

"Have I thought what?" Lady Bridgerton got what she wanted, his son's attention. "If she might've be the one for you." She made sure to be careful with her words, not to ruin her son's happy mood. "If she might be the one for me, what do you mean, mother?" His eyebrows furrowed and his eyes looked as confused as his whole face expressions. "Is she the one you are going to marry? You two get together very well-" Anthony made sure to stop her right there, before she could say more. "Mother, it is not that easy, she isn't really interested about marriage." And turned back to his newspaper.

His mother stayed quiet for a moment before opening her mouth again to say something. "Whatever you mean by that? How is she not interested marriage? After all she is the diamond of the season, she is beautiful as just bloomed flower." Lady Bridgerton liked the girl already very much and she knew deep inside that Anthony felt the same to Cordelia.

"She just isn't interested, I do not really know but I am glad she still will be joining with us in Aubrey Hall." And he left his mother in the room alone.

Lady Bridgerton did not stay with her thoughs alone and went to find her oldest daughter. She found Daphne at downstairs, speaking with few servants. "Daphne." With a sharp move, she turned her head to where the sound had came. "Mother, what is it?"

"I need to speak with you, now. It is quite urgent." And gave quick smile to her.

"Well, alright..." Wondering what her mother now had in her mind, she almost seemed suspicious with her motions. The two women walked in to smaller living room, Lady Bridgerton looking through the window as Daphne stood tall next to white marble fireplace. "What is that you wanted to discuss with?" Daphne had no idea why her mother had in mind now.

Lady Bridgerton looked straight to her daughter. "As we will welcome Miss Anderton to Aubrey Hall, I would like you to..Maybe, perhaps encourage Anthony to.." It was hard for her to speak her thoughts out loud but Daphne realised very quickly what her mother was trying to say.

"Mother, I cannot do something like that. Anthony can decide when snd who he will propose and are you sure Anthony is ready for it? Or do you know does Anthony want to marry this girl?" Daphne couldn't believe what her mother was suggesting.

"I didn't really get clear message from Anthony about this, and Miss Anderton.." She looked away from Daphne, hiding something from her.

"And Miss Anderton, what?" Daphne knew something wasn't quite right, she could smell it.

"Anthony said, Miss Anderton is not interested to marry but just.., I really wished she would had been the one for him. Every time they meet, there is more behind their kind words and friendly actions." Lady Bridgerton couldn't let go of this idea, she wanted her son to find his happiness and motive to wake up every day.
