A lot of things changed that summer. For her, she finally saw a spark in the dark and for him, he finally saw the truth. But sadly one things always leave to another. The consequences of the change. There will always be a little darkness in their worlds. A little more secrets and a little more pain.

They just could not separate one from another.

And that may be their end.

" Was it hard?" Hunter took a step in front of Summer. He gave her a glare and he knew, that this girl right here, standing shocked is so much more than just a friend.

She was the first person in his life that saw his scars and stayed. But was it because she was scared to stay alone? Was this what girls are always scared from?

"What?" The old man asked. He had a smirk on his face. The lust for money and the evil soul could be smelled from afar. Even she felt uncomfortable standing there.

"Letting go." Hunter laughed. But the tears in his eyes were on their way out.

The old man just nodded. The silence after it made the situation awkward. Summer took a good look at man's face. She lived in chaos and that's her way to survive. But her biggest power was that she made the chaos her home. She felt warm in the terrifying feeling that her moment will come before she fix everything.

But while she was living in the chaos, Hunter thrived in it. That was all he knew and this is what it do to you. It feels like you are drowning in your own head and yourself is not helping you out. The problem is, you don't die.

Hunter took down the fireplace. He shut it as he shuts the whole world around him.

"What is so special about the diamond?" She finally asked. Without making any  eye contact with the killer of her family. She wanted answers. She wanted all that darkness, all of the clouds to be gone. It was time for the sun and she wasn't patient anymore.

"I thought you were dead." He tried to get up but Hunter faster put him down. He send a death glare to Summer before it clicked him. This was Hunter's soft spot. In that moment he realized. It was never about their family anymore. It was a lot bigger.

"Nightmares keeping you awake, darling?"  He looked up at Hunter then down at Summer. Got up fixing his suit and left the room by stopping for a look at Summer. He smiled at her whispering something. And that thing could be seen was frightening.

On the other side of the room Hunter was confused from the saw and heard. His father is alive. And in the same time he killed Summer's parents.

" Talk to me." Summer said placing her hand on his face.

"Let me in." She is looking him in the eyes. Her hand was leaving a trace on his cheek. She wanted to help him. To take away the pain. To even give him the chance of normal life.

He was ready to set fire around the whole world but never let a single flame touch her. She started becoming his biggest strength and his biggest fear.

" Monsters don't sleep under your bed, the live in your head." He said grabbing her hand slowly. Kissing it he closed his eyes knowing what he have to do after this.

He knew that turning his back now means safeness for her. It means that the target on her back will fall, and normal life is destined.

But for hundreds of reasons he couldn't. It was hard for his to leave her after everything. It was hard to say no to something so strong inside of him. He could feel that she was his sun after the storm. But being so selfish like this wasn't helping. He knew that winning her love is impossible. She was a strong woman. A woman that need no one to breath for her.

But little did he knew.

"You don't have to do this alone." She closed her eyes so the tears could stay inside. She was not scared anymore.

"I'm not scared." But he left her hand. Walking behind her, he kissed her head as the last goodbye. She wasn't even scared from that moment. She knew he would stay, but the consequences, like I said earlier, were hard to swallow.

"Please. Stay." She whispered with her tears falling down. He stopped and the hardest it felt for him, he said the answer she didn't want to hear. She was alone again. After almost letting her guard down. After feeling that it all could have a happy ever after. She was left again.

"I can't."
