People say that answers like 'yes' 'no' and 'maybe' are constructive imagination. You can answer with them to almost everything except the question 'are you in love?' . Usually people run from things like love and infinity but it comes to them in a small amount.
But when you mistake love for lust and care for desire, usually you get neither. And love is an ugly word. Nowadays it's used for everything but love. For everything except loving. In reality it's taken for the craziest and the most terrifying feeling in the world.
Something you can't stop, something you can't control.
And loving at night feels kind of the most real thing. The night of the masquerade ball, Hunter put on his dark red suit and his black tie.Heading to the car the only thing on his mind was the feeling that something is wrong. Something bad is going to happen. She was going to happen.
And he was terrified.
He matched perfectly with the car and the theme of the night. 'Lust and desire' .
Cars and limousines was parked in front of the big house. Maybe he never saw the house that bright before. Every room, every stair, every window was leaving the light outside. It was screaming 'I have money' but in reality it was a sad house. Hunter had seen it depressed, closed, sad and scary.
Now it was different.
It was happy and colored.
The purple carpet and dark red chairs and tables screamed that it's chaos. Purple never looked good with red. But in some way.
Now it does.
Hunter went in giving the invitation to a taller man than him and put his mask on. Entering the big hall he could see a lot of people he couldn't recognize and it was killing him inside. It past 8 pm and seconds after it the door closed. Not letting anyone out. Whispers filled the room and then suddenly..
There she was.
Walking down the stairs in a sparkly purple dress with the necklace on her neck. The purple diamond.
Hunter took a step closer to the first tables . Staring at the man next to Summer. He was tall and... old. Hunter overthink every step that they do.
His mind had a lot of question but he was sure she was blackmailed. There was no way for her to do something like this.
Summer liked the calm and quiet places. She was the kind of woman that doesn't need other people knowing and sniffing her life.
And still. Throwing a ball?
"Good evening ladies and gentleman." Summer opened her arms in the air. She smiled. And Hunter forgot about all the questions he had.
"We are gathered here to celebrate." The old man said. The voice was recognizable. The hair was seen before.
It was only one person behind the mask.
The lights went off. It became dark in the room. And then the light was suddenly on Hunter's body. It made him look like the main character for a second.
The old man took down his mask and grabbed Summer's elbow pushing her in the center of the room catching the other spotlight.
"Here is the Delaware's daughter herself. Making an apology for the killed fathers and mothers trough the years. And now she is ready to pay for her family sins." The old man took out a gun. But no one moved to even try to save her.
People was just staying there. Like a statues and was happy.
Little did they knew, she was not a monster. She was not wrong to pay for her family mistakes. My family mistakes.
