I curl a piece of my hair behind my ear before opening the doors, behind them it led to a booming party. Parties make me
nervous....
I walk in, tugging down uncomfortably on the black minidress Evelyn let me borrow. I lean against a pillar, watching the horde of gyrating individuals. I didn't know so many people occupied this castle...
Just like a scene in a sappy 90's film the crowd migrates, and i discern a glimpse of Jace dancing with some blonde, she has a huge grin on her face, while he, he looks like he normally does, miserable and morose.
"Hey, Alice!" James high squeaky voice snaps my attention back. I squint, the fluorescent purple strobing lights blinding me. He has a gray suit on, a flower in the top pocket, his ginger hair gelled back, just like Jaces. I bite my bottom lip, "hey james, can you get us some shots please?" He nods, shamelessly sweating. While he runs off i turn back to Jace.
Seeing him with someone else makes me feel insanely jealous, like i'd kill her, jealous.
I lick my teeth, my head angled down, Jace turns to me, across the room i can still see a pang of guilt pass his face. I push my middle finger nail against my thumb, as James nudges me with a plate of shots. I grab one, my eyes still focused on Jace, i tip my head backwards and drink it, then another, then the rest. I put my hand on my neck, holding back a burp. "Dance." i order, James quickly grabs my waist, like he's been waiting his whole life, and has been practising...
He was surprisingly an amazing dancer, to the beat of the song we sway. Out of the corner of my eye i see Jace staring, his eyebrows lifted, he looks lethal. I lift my chin profusely and turn away, my ass against James groin. I hear a little whimper escape his trembling lips. I bend down, arching my back. James hands move from my waist to my thighs, he knew what to do.
Jace slowly make his way closer to us, his partner following him brazenly.
James rushes and gets us both more shots, we loop arms and tilt the drink into each-others mouths. What the hell am i doing? This isn't me.
I lean up to James ear as he sways my hips back and forth, "i need to go to the washroom."
He nods, pulling away, "of course, i'll be here!"
I smile and place a soft kiss on his cheek, "thank you for dancing with me tonight." He nods, taking a deep breath. He was cute, but not as cute as Jace.
I stumble through the crowd to the woman's washroom, as i enter it's empty, thank god.
I walk up and look into the mirror and see my eyes are red, i smile and see my sharp teeth. I let out a little gasp and cover my mouth with my hands.
I hear the faint sound of the bathroom door closing, then locking. In the mirror i see Jace standing against the door, his hand on the lock.
I take a deep shaky breath and swiftly turn around, my hands resting on the sink. He watches me, the music blasting through the crack at the bottom of the door. He furrows his brows and walks towards me, he pushes his chest against mine, trapping me. His hands sternly on mine, he leans down to my face.
My breath shortens as i hesitantly pull my
head away, he frowns and brings his finger up, putting it under my chin. He forcefully tilts it up towards his calling lips. A groan slips between my lips as he puts his leg between mine, pushing them apart. He bends down and sucks on my neck, i tilt my head back and squeeze my eyes shut. I run my hand through his hair and pull his head up, "Jace, your date." His eyes full with hunger he growls, "She wasn't my date."
I raise my eyebrow and push him away, "Yeah, right." I straighten out my dress, "Oh look, you got drool all over Evelyn's nice dress." I sigh, wiping my chest with my hand, teasing him trying to lighten up the mood. Jace wipes his mouth, watching me, unimpressed. I pass him, he turns with me, i unlock the door and look over my shoulder at him, "Cmon Jace, we both have dates to get back to..." His throws his head back and let's out a deep growl, his hands clenched, "This isn't over Alice."
