Y/n still loved Gale. The war happened and when the rebels won, Y/n and Gale were able to go home. Y/n's memories got better and her and Gale stayed in love like never before. A few years after the war they got married and had a kid. Katniss and Peeta also got married and they all stayed friends. Very good friends.
There are times when Y/n or Gale get flashbacks or nightmares, but they are always there to comfort each other. Y/n kept her promise. Over the years of their lives, they learned so much, but most importantly; the real meaning of life.
After losing Finnick and Prim and so many others, they realized that there is nothing more important than always staying with the ones you love, and always being there for them.
Y/n always dreamed of the life she is living now.
Free, with the one they love the most, and happy, Gale and Y/n lived happily ever after. Just like in the fairy tales.
