Chapter 10

Holly's POV
I got up and saw that I had text from Hayes.
H- hey meet me at the park at the park at 11:00. I have a fun surprise for you.❤️
Me-ok I can't wait. Luv you😘
H- ok see you in a bit beautiful😘❤️

I wondered to myself where Hayes was going to take me. I was so excited.
I went to go get ready. I wanted to look nice for our first official date.. I think.
It was 9:00. I went and took a shower and then blow dried my hair. I them straightened it. I added some mascara and eyeliner, just a light layer.

I pulled a strand of hair on each side back and clipped it, and I thought I looked great. I ran to my closet. I grabbed some white high waisted shorts (my favorites) and a light teal blue crop top. I put on my black vans, and by now it was already 10:45. I had to get going.

I ran downstairs and hugged my parents goodbye and was on my way to the park.

When I got there, I saw the black SUV, and Hayes got out.
"Hey there beautiful. You look great." He wrapped his arms around me.
"So do you." I smiled. He was wearing khaki shorts and a nice blue Polo.
His hair was on point. He really did look great.

We got into the back of the SUV and I saw Cameron in the drivers seat.

"Everyone ready." He looked back at us.
We replied yes and we were on our way. Where? I had no idea.

We made it to a long driveway leading into the woods. The sun shined through the trees. It was absolutely beautiful. There was a little path leading to who knows where.

Hayes grabbed my hand and we got out of the SUV. Hayes thanked Cameron for the ride.
"Ready?" He asked and smiled.
I nodded and we started to walk down the path.
"Holly, I just want you to know how much I really do love you. I don't really care what my fans think. And when I leave, nothing's going to change. I'll love you forever no matter what." He said as we kept walking hand in hand.

I looked at him. I wanted to cry.
"Hayes I love you so much. I just don't want to be apart. But no matter what, I'll love you forever too."
We turned a corner of the path, and I could hear rushing water. I looked and there was the most beautiful waterfall. On the side was a blanket, a picnic basket and some roses.

"Here we are." He looked at me.
I was so surprised. No one had ever done anything like this for me. It felt so good to know he actually cared about me.
I hugged him. Tight.
"I love you." I whispered.
"I love you more," he replied and we pulled away. He motioned to the blanket and I sat down. He sat down next to me. He opened the basket and their were two self size pizzas from some pizza place in town. It was cute. I don't think Hayes really knows how to cook.
"Here you go." He handed me one of the mini pizzas.
"Thank you." I giggled.
He took out two bottles of blue Powerade. It was my favorite and he knew it.
"Ooooh, yum." I laughed. I was in such a good mood at this point. This was so sweet.
We talked and laughed. He took out some cheese its and we had to try to get it in each others mouth. He was better at catching them; mine just fell all over the blanket. But that was ok because I was happy, and laughing my head off.

Hayes was too. I loved his laugh. I loved everything about him.

"Oh so, I have another meet and greet tomorrow. Do you want to come" he asked me.
"It would be my pleasure." I smiled and laughed.
We finished eating and I rested my head on his shoulder. It was silent. A good silent. It was calming.

Hayes beautiful blue eyes met mine. He smiled mischievously. I looked at him confused. He looked at the waterfall and the small river it pored into and then looked back at me.
"No way. I am not swimming in there. There's probably a shark." I laughed. He grabbed my arms
"There's no sharks. It's like four feet deep." He laughed.
He pulled me up.
"Hayes stop. No I'm not going in there. Noooo. Stop." I pulled away from him but he was too strong. Wow he was really strong. We both laughed.
He pulled harder. I yelled and smiled.
"Come on!" He yelled. I was pulled in the water. It felt really good surprisingly.
"BENJAMIN HAYES GRIER. I AM SOOOOO MAD AT YOU!" I yelled to him. "I'm so getting you back for this." We laughed. I planted my feet on the rocks on the river floor. Around the small waterfall was a little mini pool thing that we were in.
"Oh come one you know you love me."
"Your right I do. But that doesn't mean I like you right this second." We laughed. We were soaked. I swam over to him and hugged him.
"Thank you Hayes. Really. Thank you." I said to him.
He looked at me with those big blue eyes that always bring up the butterflies.
He kissed me and I kissed back. It meant so much. Kissing in the middle of nowhere in a pool in a river around a waterfall😂. But really. It felt so right.

We pulled away. Slowly. He hugged me again.
"I really do love you Holly. Don't let anyone make you think differently." He said to me.
"I won't. I promise." And with that, he walked me out of the river. Luckily Hayes had brought towels. He knew he was going to shove me in the river.

He wrapped me in my towel and wrapped himself his. We laid down on the blanket. I rested my head on his chest. I wrapped one arm around his belly. He wrapped his arm arm around my shoulders.
"Hayes?" I said to him. Birds were chirping everywhere. It was so perfect.
"Yeah."
"Do you think we'll be together on the future. Do you think everything will work?" I asked him. I was truly scared of being hurt in the future.
"Holly, all I can say is, people face a lot of challenges in life. We're going to face challenges. A lot of them. But we just have to stick together, trust, and understand each other. If we love each other, that's all that should matter." He said confidently. Exactly what my sister had said. Maybe they were right...
