|| Part 26 - Secrets Revealed ||

Lucie's POV:
In the morning we were informed that the Scouts' custody of Eren had been similarly removed, along with many of the higher cadets and commanders being brought through the walls and to the capital to discuss what would happen with Eren.

Armin had told us that him, Eren and Mikasa would be trying to find Annie to gain help to overthrow the soldiers in the capital to keep custody of Eren, of course me and Jess tried to stay natural yet still give them our support, but we were to be taken to the central to be questioned as witnesses as we saw first hand the female titan and what they might need to fear, as Levi instructed us what to say and do, depending on which questions they may ask as he didn't want the soldiers to gain too much knowledge of the scouts.

We gave our goodbyes as we got into the carriage, a little nervous as we sat, two soldiers across from us.

By the time we had entered the capital, it seemed like our arrival had been announced and that some of our scouts including us, would be brought here, there was many yells from people outside of our carriage, some yelling offensive words, cursing us, while others screamed prayers to us, begging us to "change" and that we were "too young to be such devil's" I winced, hearing their words, me and Jess exchanged a look, a small nod shared between us as the yelling from outside continued.

A short time passed and the yelling had finally broke off.

I turned to Jess and she looked to me from the corner of her eye, her face still straight but slightly tilted so she could see me as I whispered to her "What are we going to do?"

"I don't know, but I'm sure they have it under control, we just need to hold our own and not get killed." Jess whispered back to me, staring straight into one of the soldiers eyes.

"But what if-" I was cut off by a large explosion coming from a row of houses a bit away from u, it was a familiar type of explosion, it was a titan shifter, surely Eren hadn't turned, right?

"HEEL!" yelled the soldier as the carriage halted, causing me and Jess to go forward as Jess caught me with her arm, pulling us both back on to the seat.

"What did you both do?! You were a part of this, weren't you! All another part of your little schemes to get humanity killed!" The soldier in front of Jess yelled, holding his gun up to Jess who had gone a little infront of me.

"No! We don't know what's going on, we never planned anything!" Jess yelled back, firm, not afraid of the soldier even though he was threatening her life.

"LIAR!" He gritted his teeth, putting his finger on the trigger.

Just as he went to pull the trigger, the soldier beside him swung his gun around and hit him in the side of the head with the bottom of his gun, knocking him clean out.

We stared at the soldier as he turned to us then they screamed "WHY DID I DO THAT-" It was.. Jean?

He hurriedly took his helmet off, revealing his dirty blonde hair and the rest of his horse-like face that had been covered as he clutched the sides of his head, basically cradling it as he looked down.

"Well.. Never expected that from you Jean, thanks." Jess spoke up.

"Yeah, you just saved both of our lives from being shot by that soldier." I gave an awkward side smile.

"That would've been embarrassing." Jess snickered and I laughed along too.

"Huh? Wait, I SAVED YOU! AND YOU! I SAVED BOTH OF YOU!" He shot up, happily grinning at the two of us.

"Sure did, now what do we do with him?" Jess spoke, motioning to the soldier who was now face down on the floor of the carriage.

"Er, we could lean him against the carriage and make it look like he passed out from fright maybe?" I suggested, looking to the knocked out soldier.
