Jess's POV:
I sat on a stool beside her bed, staring out the window as I watched birds fly from roof top to roof top, soaring and flapping after each other as the sun glistened off of their feathers.

I look over to her, lucie layed on her side, wrapped in a blanket as her hair layed messily over the pillow that rested beneath her, a bandage wrapped around her head.

Then there was a knock at the door, I was still, looking at lucie before I sighed, calling out to the person at the door "Who is it." I spoke, a moment of silence cane before a voice spoke up.

"O-oh! Uhm, it's Armin! Me and Connie brought food for you two, lunch has passed and neither of you have come down." He finished.

I sighed, looking to the Trey of food that was already here, Lucie hadn't eaten supper from last night since she was out cold, I got up, collecting the key from the dresser as I walked over to the door, unlocking it as the door clicked opened, I stared at them, Armin held a tray and Connie was behind him, another tray in his hands too.

"Can we hurry this up? We have things to do while you sit here and mourn someone who isn't even dead." Connie spoke, muttering harshly as he glared at the door frame.

I glared at him, wishing I could shove him over and curse him out, but just as I opened my mouth, Armin stepped in. "Hey! Don't be rude, we're all suffering right now, we don't even know who from the injured will live."

Connie rolled his eyes, shoving the tray into my hands as he glared straight into my eyes.

"Enjoy you're food." he spoke before walking off.

"I'm sorry about him, he's just upset." Armin said, giving me a smile as he looked rather nervous.

"It's fine, anything else?" I spoke quickly, I wish I could be kinder and care for people like Armin, but I can't, neither me or Lucie can, we're here for information and to steal, not to make friends and make it seem like everything is going smoothly.

"Oh, uhm, no I don't think so? But Eren was taken in by the Military Police, he's going to be interrogated later this evening, I believe everyone will be unavailable after this, so do you need anything else?" Armin said, handing me the other tray of food.

I shook my head, smiling. "Thanks for the update, I'll see you hopefully soon."

He smiled back to me as he nodded, closing the door for me when I turned, seeing Lucie leaning on her arm to keep her up, smirk on her face as I stared, raising a brow as I sighed, processing what was in front of me as I walked back over to the desk, placing the trays down, while seating myself down as I turning to her.

"You were awake, the whole time?" I questioned.

"Noooo.... Just the end, I think- so you missed me?" she spoke smirking as she pushed the duvet off her, snatching the small loaf of bread from the tray as she swung her legs around as her feet hit the floor, one foot in a cast as she looked down to it. "Since when did I have this?" she raised a brow, biting into the bread.

"After we got back, your ankle was banged up again, you know the one you broke when we were kids?" I spoke, watching her eat the bread.

"Yeah, you mean the time I broke it due to crashing through a window, almost getting pierced by glass in an attempt to run from police and had to take an illegal travel through a makeshift slide to the floor where you MISSED the flour bags and smacked your head off the floor and I had to carry you when I couldn't walk?" she finished, looking up at me.

"A little specific... But, yes." I responded, chuckling as I turned to my tray of food.

"Hm, good times." she smiled, pausing before speaking once more. "Anyways, I heard your little conversation with Armin, everyone's gonna be away? Soooo... Less guards and patrols? You remember what we're here for, right?" she spoke, moving her legs back into the bed as she continued eating the bread, her back against the wall.
