Brendan put on a white shirt and a pair of blue jeans before he started heading out. He checked his phone to confirm where Kirishima and the others were waiting. He let out a sigh as he locked the door and headed out. As he started walking to the train station, he gripped his chest. Even after the night of rest, the pain that he had suffered from yesterday's events. Using Jeanne D'Arc Alter's powers had been a poor choice to use against Todoroki, but, in his defense, he had not expected Todoroki to use his fire. Since Jeanne D'Arc had been burned at the stake, it caused him to experience the same pain and broke the link, leaving the awful pain. Brendan groaned, "I owe Todoroki one for this."
Brendan already regretted accepting the invitation. The group had decided to head out to the arcade and then went to karaoke. Even though he had decided to leave after a few minutes, Ashido and Kirishima grabbed him and pulled him with them. Even though he only agreed to take his mind off the pain he felt, Brendan still hurt and dealing with the other teenagers made it even worse. Kaminari finished his song and sat down next to him, "Hey Chaldea. How are you feeling? Kirishima told me that you were in pain because of the battle yesterday." Brendan grunted, "It's a little better, but not much. I think I'll get going." Kirishima came up, "What? Dude, come on. We have the day off. We should be spending the entire day relaxing." Brendan frowned deeply, "I happen to be in pain. I need to go home and rest." Kirishima frowned, "Ok. Well, let us know if there's anything you need." The boy stood up and walked out.
Brendan ate the hot dog that he bought on his way back to his mansion. The other students had told him to feel better and to contact them if he needed anything. He rolled his eyes at their actions and words. It wasn't like any of them could do anything for him. The Heroic Spirit that he had used was an Avenger, a being who was wronged in life, meaning that he felt the Spirit's hate and anger. That also meant that he had to feel their pain as they died along with the pain from the attack against him. He knew that his ability was unique, so no one had any way of healing him. The only solution was to wait for him to heal naturally. Not that that made him feel better. Brendan groaned as the pain returned. He finally reached the mansion and was about to open the door when his head started to hurt. Suddenly, he felt as if thought someone was looking at him. He started to look around, trying to see if anyone was around. However, there was no one. They pain and feeling continued to pulse into his head as he entered the mansion. Brendan tried to rub his head to try to sooth the pain. As he did this, he started to have a vision. First, he saw a strange building with a young girl smiling. The next image was of dark spirits that seemed to resemble the Heroic Spirits whose power he used. They seemed to be muttering something. Brendan started to get scared. He had never had anything like this happen to him before. The Spirits had never spoken before. All he had was their memories and powers. After a few seconds, he could make out what they were saying, "Holy Grail!"
Brendan sat up, face a pale white. He gasped in terror. It seemed that he had fallen asleep on the floor. Well, more like he had lost consciousness. As he rubbed his head, he then noticed something. He felt something. Brendan felt his heart pounding in his chest, showing that he was feeling scared. It had been years since he felt anything. 'Why am I feeling something now?' he thought. It was just a random day. Did it have something to do with the sports Festival or the villain attack a few weeks ago? That's when he also noticed that the pain was gone. Brendan stood up and let out a groan of annoyance. He walked to his room and fell onto his bed. He would think about it another day.
