I will give a small warning,
There's one specific part that references the passing of Technoblade irl...
I can absolutely understand if that's a sensitive topic for people at the moment, cause it is for me too.

So I figured I'd give you a heads up.

Enjoy, my dear readers <3

"..Dad?? Where are you going?"
The young boy asked, rubbing his eyes as he watched Quackity stuff clothes into a large bag.

Quackity snapped his head over to look at his son in law..
he sighed, bending down to Tubbo's level.

He smiled,
"It's late, kiddo.. You should be asleep."
Quackity told him, rubbing his shoulder.

"I heard you and daddy fighting earlier. I couldn't sleep.."
he said shrugging.

Quackity sighed sadly, looking away and rubbing his eyes, clearly stressed.

"Jeez... Sorry, bud. Let's get you back to bed, yeah?"
He said giving the child a forced smile.

Tubbo shook his head, holding his old worn out teddy bear close to his chest.

"Why are you packing..?? Are we going on a trip?"
He asked, tilting his head.

Quackity felt an ache in his heart, looking at the innocent oblivious kid.

He fought the tears that were welling his eyes as he carefully brought Tubbo in for a loving hug.

"..Tubbo, I have to go away for a little bit okay?"
He said, shakily.

Tubbo was oblivious.
"Oh.. We'll you'll be back later right?"
He said smiling innocently as they detached from the embrace.

Quackity was trying his very hardest to not let his tears fall.. For this was the last time he'd ever see this child he adored so much.

Quackity looked down at the floor for a minute.. He knew he couldn't lie to the kid. So he didn't answer the question.

"..Can you take care of your daddy for me?? Think you can do that for me?"
He said, forcing a smile.

Tubbo grinned and nodded his head.

Quackity brought the boy in for one last tight hug, finally letting a tear fall when he knew Tubbo couldn't see..

"You remember that one time when it was storming out, and there was thunder and lightning?"
Quackity asked the kid.

Tubbo nodded,
"Mhm! I hid under my bed.."

Quackity nodded smiling to himself,
"Yep.. Well, I know when I came into your room to check on you.. I remember you said you were scared."

Tubbo nodded, recalling the memory.

"I told you that there was nothing to be afraid of.. Can I tell you a secret??"
He said rubbing the boy's back.

Tubbo nodded, listening intently.

"Well.. I was scared too."
He whispered, smiling.

Tubbo gasped, pulling away from the embrace.
"Really??"
He asked, astonished.

Quackity nodded, looking down.
"Yeah... You see, sometimes grown ups get scared too. And sometimes, we don't know how to be brave. So we pretend to be big and strong.. But we are actually just as afraid as you are. But, I want you to know that it's okay to be scared. It's okay to be afraid sometimes, okay? As long as you try to be brave. Can you remember that for me?"
