Chapter Two

I pace back and forth in my room, my mind moving, trying to come up with a solution to my minor problem. Greek monsters and gods should not be here.

A scream echoes from outside, and I run to the window. A fire sparks in the middle of the square below me, and a figure emerges from the flame.

"Daughter of Athena," it yells.

Oh gods what have I done this time?

I grab my sword, put it back in its sheath, and run outside to the square.

"Daughter of Athena show yourself!"

Muscular arms grab my waist from behind me and pull me to the ground, once I reach the square.

"Don't you dare," a voice hisses at me. "I heard what it called you earlier, you're not giving yourself up."

"What is going on?" another person calls. I turn to see Merlin come up beside Arthur. He can see through it too? Go figure.

"Show your self out I'll torch this place!" it screams. Hades. It has to be.

I stand up and walk forward, despite Arthur's protests.

"I'm sorry," I mutter. I grab both of their heads, taking them by supprise, and bang them against each other. They fall to the ground, both knocked out. I didn't actually think that would work. Sweet!

"I'm here. What can you possibly want from me."

It turns to face me. "You should not be here."

"Yeah, I pretty much got that one. Hades?"

It laughs, "How could you ever mistake me for him? I'm very offended."

A growl forms in my throat. I know exactly who this bastard is.

"What do you want Ares?"

He smirks, "Did you like the hellhound earlier? I thought that was a nice little touch."

"Answer my question."

"Or what? We are all knowing, all seeing. I know exactly who you are."

I tense up and glare at him. Damn gods knowing everything. But the future? I thought that was a bit beyond them. Save the oracle.

"You can't just glare at me all day, I'm here to help."

"Yeah, and I'll believe that when pigs fly."

"As crazy as it might seem, we have to unite to face a common enemy."

"Since when were you smart?"

"Since I started talking to your mother."

"You should have started that earlier."

"Nope. Anyway, something bigger threatens this kingdom, something I can't concur alone."

"Please tell me no more giants?"

"No, not giants. Magic. But not our type of magic."

Someone behind me gasps, and I draw in a deep breath, trying to keep my cool.

"Then what type of magic?"

"Not the Greek kind."

"Could you be anymore vague?"

"I don't know what kind! That's why I need your help. And you might want some help from someone who knows this place, and knows magic."

Merlin, it has to be.
