Chapter Thirteen

"Light the god damned fire!" I cry out as I set the entire room on fire. "I don't see how this is helping!"

Water smiles at me. "Every second you use your powers helps it grow and mature, I'm merely teaching you how to utilize it. And the more you learn to do without using an actual spell, the better."

"Fun, now how do I put this out?"

"Look in the book."

I sigh and pick up the book entitled Of the Grave. We've been training for the past few days and so far have gotten no where. In my mind at least.

Although, Arthur is improving with a shorter sword, which is partially helping with the whole horrible-vision-from-Nimeuh deal. And I thought I'd gotten rid of the bitch when Merlin told me he'd killed her.

I've been teaching Arthur all about the Greek culture, well, the mythology aspect of it. I just haven't touched the touchy subject of demigods... I'm kinda waiting on that.

I flip through the book for a spell to put out fires. I find one, and use it to put out the flames. They disappear in the blink of an eye just as the door from downstairs opens.

"Its the men." Jack tells me. "They've somehow disguised them selves as us and plan on going ahead with the coronation. If they become king this entire city will fall under the spell of their horrible magic. I've never seen something so evil."

"Yeah? Well I have. Her name's Nimueh and she was defeated. These men can be defeated," I start flipping through the book again. "I just need to find out how."

"We could storm into the palace and kill them," Arthur suggests, coming up the stairs and standing next to Jack.

I shake my head. "No, that would be suicide... They'd kill us before we could even make it into the palace. We need a plan... But what?" I start pacing back and forth with the book open in my hand. "Just strolling up to the front door is out, obviously... We have to find someway of getting in undetected."

"Leave that to me," Jack says. "I know every nook and cranny of that place."

I nod. "Good. You can infiltrate them, find out what they're doing. Maybe attempt to kill them with some plants if you can."

He rolls his eyes at me. "You don't have to constantly annoy me about how I got the plant goddess as a mother and suckish plant powers, while you got the goddess of wisdom and war as your mother and the kick ass powers."

I smile. "Yes I do. Anywho, infiltrate. Find out what's going on. Me and Arthur on the other hand..." A devious grin forms on my face. "Up for some party crashing Arthur?"

"Does it involve defending my status as an amazing warrior, because that's kinda been going into the dumps the past few days. I hate these stupid short swords."

"Fine, you can use your own sword. But just warning you, steel won't kill monsters, if that's what they are. Only celestial bronze will do that. That's what my sword's made of."

He smiles. "Good, party crashing it is."

Jack nods, and turns to go. "Jacky." He turns back to face me. "Be careful, ya hear me? Don't get your self killed."

I walk over to him and pull him into a tight hug.

"Don't worry Trina, almost dying once has made me much more aware."

"Good. Now go save your city."

He's two years older than me, but I still treat him like a little brother.

I follow him down the stairs and watch as he goes out, and heads down the street. He blends in perfectly, he never was that tall.

"You really love him, don't you?" Arthur asks.

I nod. "He's my brother, I love him more than I can describe. He was the only person that actaully loved me."

"Then why'd you leave?"

"I don't know. I crave adventure and battle. It was too peaceful here for my liking, so I left. Headed out into the vast unknown. Quite an adventure that's been."

"I'm glad you decided to leave, because if you never had I would have never meant you. I don't know how I could have gotten through the past couple of months without you."

Funny thing, it was never my choice to come here.

But it was my choice to stay.

And I'm glad I did.

I smile. "That's because you wouldn't have."

He rolls his eyes at me, and I continue to stare out the window. Only a few more hours before party crashing time. The hell am I gonna do with a few hours?

Arthur comes over and leans against the wall next to me. "Tell me about your mother."

I smile. "She's gorgeous, personally I think she's even more beautiful than Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty. But don't tell her I said that. She's a master warrior, even more skilled than me. She always knew how troubled I was as a child, and was always there, even when Zeus yelled at her for spending too much time on earth. She always made a point to see me, to talk to me, to help me, to train me. She's the most amazing woman I've ever known. I would give almost anything just to see her again for one day."

Arthur smiles at me. "Your face softens whenever you talk about her. You should try going for that kind of look more often."

"And why's that?"

He shakes his head. "Never mind. You haven't really explained much about what being a demigod means."

I sigh. "Well the gods can't steal each others powers, can't go into each others realms and whatnot. But heroes, that's what they call demigods sometimes, heroes can. We can go anywhere, do anything. We go on quests to help the gods or," in Luke's case, "Destroy them."

"Why would someone want to destroy them?"

"Some people are just flat out stupid. But in the end, they always pull through. The gods will never die, they'll be around long after I'm gone. You just can't destroy them."

"That's quite fascinating."

"That's the way of the gods. Fascinating, mysterious. No body will ever fully understand them."

He lets out a deep breath. "You'll have to be careful when we return to Camelot. If Uther suspects even the slightest link..."

I smile. "Oh please, I've managed to hand in there this far, haven't I? You won't tell a soul about this, you better not."

He nods. "My lips are sealed. You should get some rest, it's gonna be long night. I'll wake you up when it's time."

"What ever."

I find my way over to our makeshift sleeping area, and throw myself on the blankets. I close my eyes and let sleep overtake me.

~~**~~

"Kat get up, we have to go, now!" Someone screams at me. I jump up from my little blanket fort, grab my sword, and follow Arthur out the door.

"Do you even know where we're going?" I hiss at him.

"I thought you did."

"I do nitwit, if you'll let me lead."

"Right."

I walk in front of him, leading him down the streets. I've scoped this place out over the past few days so I'd know where it is.

"They're having it right in the center of the Agora. Apparently they want everyone to see. I wonder freaking why," I explain to Arthur.

"Agora?"

"It's like, the central market and social place. Like a town square or the main green or something. It's a Greek thing."

I move in with the crowd and attempt to blend in. I've been devising a plan ever since I came up with this idea.

It's quite simple really. Meet up with Jack and get the scoop, then attack them as discreetly or as openly as possible. It's probably gonna end up being openly.

I take in the scene once we reach the Agora. People are already starting to gather, just waiting for the big coronation. I didn't even know they had coronations in Greece. Oh well.

They've set up a stage in the middle, and an aisle going from the back of the Agora to the front. This feels too much like a coronation from medieval England.

Maybe they're going for that because they know we're gonna be here.

Well then shit.

"There's about five of them in all, but we can take them," a voice whispers in my ear. Jack.

"Two of them have magic, but a really odd type. They're the ones that are impersonating us. The other three are master swordsmen that act more as body guards. They'll be a challenge."

I turn to Arthur. "You up for it?"

He nods. "Sounds like fun."

"Good. I'll take out the other three. Magic must be taken out by magic, it'll be impossible for you two to get anywhere near them." I stretch out my arm, lock my fingers, and stretch them out. "I got this."

"They're really powerful Trina, they can change shape into two people who are still living."

I sigh. "I know, thanks Jack. You can shoot, right? Take this and go somewhere high and shoot them. I'm not risking you down here in the middle of the fight."

"Fine them. Celestial bronze?" He takes my bow and doesn't protest, he understands how I can't have him die. It would kill me too.

"Silver and celestial bronze."

I hand him my sheath and he goes off to find a building to perch on.

"I'm in the mood for storming down the aisle just after the guy impersonating Jack, sound good? You have no idea how badly I want to crash this party."

He smiles. "Sweet, overly dramatic crashing of the party it is."

I smile and nod. "You bet."

I sneak down and blend myself in with the crowd near the back of the aisle. I should have worn that cape...

Or not, it would have given me away even more I guess.

A man steps onto the stage in front and the crowd is immediately silence. I watch myself step up onto the stage, smiling.

Oh damn that's creepy. It looks exactly like me.

Arthur shivers next to me, and I put my hand on his shoulder to remind him that I'm here and not there.

A person who looks exactly like my brother starts walking up the aisle.

I feel like there should be some kind of dramatic music playing in the background as the audience of the movie anticipates our attack on them.

Seriously though.

He reaches the stage, and kneels before the person I'm guessing is like the priest or something here.

I watch them for about a second before I draw my sword, and take for the aisle.

Arthur follows after me, drawing his own sword.

We stride of the aisle, and I twirl my sword around my hand as the people gasp around me.

"You've made on major mistake," I call up to them. Surprise is written across all their faces. "Katrina never goes anywhere without a sword."

The person impersonating me reaches for a sword that's not there.

Haha I win.

You rue the day bastard.

I pull out one of my knife at throw it right at the other me's face.

I glare at myself, oh gods this is weird, and the person transforms back into his true form.

More gasps and cries from the peanut gallery. Not helping.

"I was wondering when I'd get to meet you, daughter of Athena. You are quite famous around here."

"Yeah, for being fair, just, and a beast with a sword."

The men on the stage motion with their hands, and three guys charge at us.

I hold up my sword and look over at Arthur.

"Don't you dare die on me, ya hear?"

He nods. "You better not die either Kat..."

His eyes glaze over, as if he's thinking of a happy place or something.

Now is not the time.

I slap him really hard across the face. "Snap out of it, damn it!"

"What was that for?"

I smile. "To wake you up. Have fun with these guys, I gotta go get me some impostor."

I run at one of the guys charging at him, and use him as a platform to push off from. I jump onto his shoulders and push off, jumping over the next three men. I brace myself for impact, and roll it out when it does come.

That's the first time I've pulled that trick and its worked.

Now that's what I call music.

What?

I run at the man who looks like Jack, but he throws up a force field in front of himself.

I smile at him. "Like that's gonna stop me. Do you know who I am?"

He smiles at me. "Better than you."

Damn him. Damn him to Hades.

I counter his force field with a blast of fire from my hand, and it burns right through the mask. He chuckles, and disappears into thing air.

Bastard.

I turn to the other man, with full intent of defeating him right here and now.

He sends a blast of fire at me, and I catch it in my hand. I send it right back at him and he flicks it away.

"You're good girl, better than I'd heard you'd be."

"Well whoever told you this should go to hell."

I mutter a spell and the back of the stage topples down. He catches it with his magic, but that causes the diversion I needed. I stab him in the back with my sword, and he topples to the ground in a heap. I hold out my hand and the back of the stage goes right side up.

I twirl my sword in my hand, and turn to find the other guy.

"Stop!" A voice cries. I look around, attempting to find the source. "Stop or your little friend gets it."

I find the other man, and my eyes wide and my mouth goes dry. He's holding Arthur with his sword across Arthur's neck. He stands in the middle of the aisle, smiling up at me.

Did I happen to mention damn him?

"Let him go," I growl.

He laughs. "As if. Now listen."

"No," I spit. "Let him go. What is he worth to you? Take me instead, just don't touch him."

"No Kat!" Arthur screams at me.

He gives me an odd look, ignoring Arthur. "Is this... love? From you? How so against what legend says."

"Wha.. what?" I stutter. "No, no, he's just my friend. And not from around here. Get your grubby little hands off of him. Wait, I'm in legend?"

"Oh, yeah sure. Yes girl, you are. The ruthless daughter of Athena who will stop at nothing to achieve her goals and save her own skin."

I snort. "Well the legend says wrong. I will stop at almost nothing to achieve my goals, and I would lay my life down to save some one I care about any day. I do not value myself above all things."

He smiles. "How heroic of you. For that, I might make his death a little bit shorter and less painless."

"No!" I cry out desperately. The man laughs, and hits Arthur hard in the stomach, sending him toppling to the ground.

He's not dead.

And he won't be if I can help it.

I charge at him, my sword held out. He knocks it out my hand by only raising his own hand. This is powerful magic at work.

I slide underneath a column of fire he sends at me, and continue to run at him.

I stop just in front of him.

"Accio!" I scream at my sword. I comes flying back into my hand, and I start jumping up and down like a giddy school boy.

It worked.

Harry Potter spells work for me.

Hell yes.

The man gives me an odd look, and I smile at him. "Oh shit just got real."

He nods for one of his men to attack me, and I turn to him.

"Stupify," I cry, holding out my hand. A flash of blue light leaves my hand, and his him square in the chest. He falls to the ground, and a huge smile appears on my face.

Best. Thing. Ever.

I turn back to the man. "I'm warning you one time, and one time only. Get your sorry ass out of my city, and never come back, or you will be sorry. Actually, you won't even have time to be sorry because you'll be dead."

He laughs at me. "Yeah, you and what army."

I watch as Arthur slowly rises to his feet behind the man. I give him a tiny little nod.

"Oh, and one more question before I send you to Hades. What exactly is your name?"

The man smiles at me. "I do not have a name, for I am the beginning of the end and the end of the beginning."

Ok, well that's odd.

Mental note, remember that.

"Now!" I call to Arthur.

He swings his sword, chopping the man's head clean off.

It flies into the air, and I point my hand at it. "Bombarda." The spell hits the head, and it disintegrates into a million tiny pieces.

I run over to Arthur.

"Are you alright? Please tell my your alright. If he do much as scratched you..."

Arthur laughs. "Calm down Kat, I'm perfectly fine. Its you I'm more worried about. Are you alright?"

I nod. "Yeah, I'm fine. Jack!" I scream.

Jack comes running up next to me. "Way to go sis, you were brilliant."

"As were you," Arthur tells him. "I couldn't have done it with out you."

I smile at him, and put one arm around each of them.

"Come on now you two, I believe we have a coronation to attend."

Arthur pushes my arm off of him. "Kat get your arms off of me."

I smile at him. "Oh please, shut up."

I turn back to the stage, my arm still around Jack.

"Minister," I call. The man who almost crowned the fake Jack appears. "I believe we have a king to crown."

~~**~~

I stand next to the minister on the stage, smiling as Jack comes walking down the aisle toward us. Arthur stands on my other side, smiling as well.

Jack managed to force me to actually wear something other than my armor for this. I have on a long dress, with a golden ring on each shoulder keeping the thing attached. The dress has no sleeves, and slowly fades into blue on the bottom. Two long pieces of cloth extend from the ring on both sides, which I have wrapped around my arms. On my head I wear a crown made out of golden leaves. I let my hair fall down my back, slightly curled.

An outfit fit for a goddess, a wisdom goddess to be exact.

I pay no attention to what the minister says as he makes Jack the official king and whatnot. My mind is too busy paying attention to Jack. My sweet older brother who was the only one who actually cared about me is becoming King of Sparta.

"Rise Jackson Martir, King of Sparta!"

The crowd bursts out into applause, and I beam at him, clapping with all my heart. He smiles back at me, and pride wells up in my stomach.

My brother, king of freaking Sparta.

Beat that.

~~**~~

"Take care of your self Trina," Jack says to me as I loud the last bag onto my horse. I put my armor back on, but I kept the dress and the crown. Now I have something to wear to any formal events at the castle that'll represent my country better than a colored cape.

I give him a big hug. "You too, govern this place well. I promise you I will be back one day, you have my word."

He pulls back. "And I trust your word above anyone else's. And Trina," he lowers his voice. "He's perfect for you."

I roll my eyes at him, and he just smiles at me.

Is it really that obvious how much I care for Arthur?

Jack goes over to Arthur. "Watch over her, I'm counting on you to do that."

Arthur nods. "She's under my protection, nothing bad will happen to her. I will do what ever it takes to keep her save."

My cheeks turn a light shade of crimson and I look down at the ground.

Jack says something I can't quite make out, and Arthur replies back in an even lower voice then Jack. Damn it I hate it when I can't hear stuff.

"Come on then." I mount my horse, and turn to Jack.

"I love you Jacky, and I will be back, don't ever forget that."

He takes my hand from the ground. "I love you too Triny, and you better be back."

I smile at him, and kick the horse, starting away from the gates.

I wave to Jack until he becomes just a dot in the distance.

Jack, king. I still can't believe it.

I know this is really stupid, but I plan on practicing my new found powers everyday. Water told me I had to before we got the horses. She also said that if I ever needed her, I could easily find her. Still not quite sure about that one but ya know what...

"Do you mind if I call you Trina now?" Arthur asks timidly.

I grin at him. "No, not at all. In fact, I would prefer it if you did. It might remind us of both of our promises to him. I do intend to come back some day."

"And I will come back with you, I might have only known your brother for a few days, but he already holds a special place in my heart."

I nod. "Yeah, he has that affect on people." I let out a deep breath. "To Camelot we go."

Arthur nods. "To Camelot."

~~**~~

A/N: What did ya think of this whole plot line thingy? Over done? Under done? Should Arthur not have found out about Kat being a demigod? Personally, I think it adds to the whole he-cares-about-her-so-much-that-he'd-never-hurt-her thing I kinda have going on. Oh well, its too late to change it. I'm skipping season 2 episode 1 cause I can't find a good way to fit Kat/Trina in. So, to season (or is it series?) 2 episode 2 we go! Btw, sorry this is sooo short, I didn't want to make the last chapter ULTRA long. *Sorry the title is crap* the picture on the side is Kat's dress!

Love,

Kateeeee
