"Friendship is like standing on wet cement. The longer you stay, the harder it's to leave, and you can never go without leaving your footprints behind."

"Oh! So, for that reason, your stay got extended." Yami said as Kiara finish narrating about the engagement event. Yami waited for a minute before responding, "why would Aditi miss her engagement? You said she was excited about the wedding."

"She is," Kiara paused, taking a sip from the juice. "But she values her work more than her personal life."

"Dhruv is of the same view?" Harshad inquired, getting curious.

"No, he is different." Kiara's voice didn't have the glow she often held while talking about Dhruv. Yami was curiously observing her friend. She sounded as if she wasn't interested in the conversation.

"You said, you all planned to spend a week together. You hanging out with us won't be a problem?" Yami inquired further making Kiara sigh in exasperation.

"I had come for only a few minutes, they won't mind." Kiara's eyes were locked on the glass, indicating she was lying. From the minute she had arrived, she hadn't made any move to hurry up. Or show any excitement about enjoying a week with her friends.

"So, if we are granted with only a few minutes. Why don't we visit the nearest amusement park?" Harshad suggested, attempting to divert Kiara's mind. "I and my best friend had planned to spend some time together but we won't mind if you join us." Harshad winked making Kiara have a slight smile though she attempted to glare at him.

"What about the office?"

"As anticipated," Harshad rolled his eyes while Yami giggled. "You just know her very well..." Harshad muttered standing from the chair.

"I am her best friend for years," Yami said making Kiara have a wide grin. Harshad shook his head as he walked from the table while Kiara stared at his retreating figure.

"You can't go talking about me in my absence." Kiara acted to sound offended but she had a beautiful smile.

"What could I do? When I was missing your presence and he kept asking about you." Yami shook her head, getting up from the chair as well.

"Why he kept asking about me?" Kiara inquired for which Yami shrugged her shoulder. Yami knew Kiara way better if Kiara got any hint that Harshad was genuinely interested in her then she would back off. She was always scared of attachment and after her case with Dhruv, she had grown extra cautious. It was way better if Kiara thought that Harshad was just fooling around her.

They soon walked out of the café making their way towards the parking lot. "Hey, Sweetheart!" Harshad called Kiara out on finding her walking towards her scooty. "We don't have an entire day for your scooty to start up."

Kiara turned, her eyes narrowing at him. "If it happened for once it doesn't mean, it keeps on repeating. You idiot!" Kiara jumped back on him, making a huge grin play on his lip.

"Are you sure it was only once?" Harshad inquired making Kiara recollect the past. Harshad shook his head walking to her and slowly but smartly slipping the scooty keys from her hand. "Now, you are left with only one option to accompany us in my car." Harshad winked at her as she stared at him with wide eyes.

"You, stupid human being," She grumbled attempting to get those keys from him. "Give back my keys." Harshad raised his hand knowing well that she couldn't reach his height.
