CHAPTER 46

"Find someone who can handle the kid in you."

Kiara was having a sip of coffee. A week passed after her visiting Dhruv's office. After a series of months, she was finally at peace, though it confused her that Harshad hadn't contacted her, but she thought he was wrapped up in some work. She had made peace with herself that though her life wasn't back on the track but things were getting normal. She was surprised that there was no awkwardness shared between Dhruv and her after having a such a drastic change of events. To her surprise, Aditi was trying to accept their friendship as before.

"Have you by any chance fought with Harshad?" Yami was keenly observing Kiara's features. "You seemed so gloomy and Harshad is going furious every single day." Yami shook her head, "he was on the verge of getting dismissed by the boss."

Kiara's eyes widen in surprise, Aditi was fast to respond. "Oh! My! Are things that, horrible?" Aditi's orbs averted to Kiara.

Kiara shrugged her shoulder, "his shift of mood shouldn't be related to me." She rolled her eyes at her melodramatic friends.

"Trust me, Kiara." Yami took a sip of the juice. "I know better..." the way she voiced it out made Aditi giggle and Kiara roll her eyes.

"What's wrong Avni?" Aditi glanced at silent Avni. "Where are you so engrossed?" She asked getting concerned. Fortunately, things were getting normal among them. None had brought up the conversation of the past and were just enjoying the present with one another.

"I guess, I know the reason for Harshad aloofness." Avni's orbs found Kiara curious ones. "You might be upset that I disclosed it to him but you had asked me to hide it from your parents and not from him." Avni provided the clarification making Kiara confused. "I informed Harshad that you went to meet Dhruv. I was so against your decision that I wanted to confide with someone." Her orbs lowered slowly glancing at Aditi. "I wanted to spare her from another heartbreak."

"You... what?" Yami exclaimed, her eyes widening in horror. "You informed him that! So, his actions are so loud." Yami shook her head in disbelief. "He is such a child," Yami groaned.

Kiara was silent, processing the information. Aditi glanced at Kiara's blank face. "I didn't want to complicate your life further." Kiara gave a slight nod, assuring her she wasn't the reason behind her messed life.

"You shouldn't be so stressed." Avni felt a need to interrupt the silence prevailing around them. Avni felt guilty that she was the reason behind Kiara's sad state. "Harshad doesn't seem intimidating guy."

"I am not worried about him, Avni." Kiara shook her head. Laying on the bed, closing her eyes in exhaustion. "He is upset and he will soon understand me. I am confused about what the hell I want from my life?" Kiara groaned, "it took me six months to heal. I was proud of myself when I walked back into this city. Walking back to you all, I thought I had moved on from my past. I had walked away from Dhruv until he knocked on the door and without wasting a single minute I pulled it open. I allowed him in, I was scared, Avni. I was scared that he will walk away if I didn't take a move. He won't even question, why? He won't even show anger. He would just walk away as he had always done." Tears flowed from the corner of her eyes.

"If you know he will walk away why you want to hold him?" Avni's question made Kiara's orbs jerk open. "I understand you care for him and maybe he cares for you as well. But you can't be the only person holding the bond. If he values you enough, he will try."
