CHAPTER 4
「 I Like You But I'm Not Confessing 」
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ♡︎♡︎♡︎ TODAY WAS ODD for Midorima, he felt restless while sitting in his chair, hands trying to fidget with whatever it is on his desk — which was just an unused pencil as his lucky item for the day — although his confusion as to why he felt that way was soon answered as he looked at the empty chair to his side. [L.Name] was nowhere to be seen and had only left a note for the teacher and left a text message for him.
From : [L.Name] (=^・ェ・^=) Subject : Absence
I'm not going to be able to attend class today since I need to go somewhere. Don't miss me too much. (*^3^)/~♡
To : [L.Name] (=^・ェ・^=) Subject : Absence
I'm not gonna miss you. Stay safe.
The lack of context on where he was, who he was with, and why he was there mildly bothered him but he tried to suppress the thoughts of messaging him more, it'll either be a distraction for [L.Name] in whatever he was doing or a distraction to himself since he still is inside class.
On the other hand, [M.Name] was busy walking along the stone paths of a certain newly formed high school. Not a single student was out of their classroom and yet his presence has already reached to the very ends of the school. As he walked to where the school gym was, he felt a presence not so far away from him — and at the very corner of his eyes, he caught sight of the tiniest light blue somewhere. Although he didn't brush it off so easily as just his imagination, the vaguest bit of memory had resurfaced in his mind.
As he neared the gym, he heard several heavy footsteps accompanied by a ball bouncing on the floor and the squeaks of rubber shoes. Before he entered, there was a metallic taste in his mouth yet not a drop of blood was there, a sigh escaped his lips. The moment he entered the court, all movements have halted and eyes were now upon him. Many felt their eyes widen and their hands immediately clasping against their mouths to cover their gasps — namely seniors — and the rest marvelled at the person before them. Only two people in the whole court have bothered to move after a moment or two, one of them was a lot more welcoming than the other.
