The next day at Lana's and Danny's home, Lana was trying to contact Heather but she wasn't able to get through, she stood in the kitchen and put the receiver back on the wall phone, "Lana! Come in here!" Danny called out.
"'Kay!" Lana said and walked into the living room, she saw various news channels and commercials as Danny flicked through the channels.
"You need to watch this," Lynn said and Lana sat on the couch with them.
"More death in Shadyside while Sunnyvale enters its 30th year of no violent crime."
"Killer Capital, USA, as tragedy struck again."
"Sunnyvale football wins again!"
"Christina Marlow and Jessica Van were found in a house in a residential area near Shadyside. They've been identified."
"That's Sunnyvale!"
"Shadysiders seem to have no desire to better themselves."
"Sunnyvale and Shadyside!"
"This just in! More body parts found in the lake between Shadyside and Sunnyvale."
"Sunnyvale votes Most Beautiful Place to Live!"
"Shadyside residents are spending another night hunkering down in darkness as..."
"Come find your new home in Sunnyvale, where the sun always shines, even when it's cloudy! While the depression hit Shadyside hard, the economy in Sunny vale continues to shine."
"According to sources with the Shadyside Police..."
Lana, Danny and Lynn sat in silence as the house phone rang again then Lana ran over to the phone, and picked it up, "Hello?... Hi, Mrs Watkins... What?... No, Heather came over last night... Danny!" Danny and Lynn rushed into the kitchen, "Mrs Watkins I haven't seen Heather since I left the mall with Danny yesterday... What? What do you mean Ryan's dad never saw him?... Okay... Of course, if I hear from her I'll call you, please tell Mr Torres the same... Thank you, bye," Lana said as she hung up.
"Lana?" Danny said.
"That was Mrs Watkins," She turned to them, "Heather never returned home last night, and Mr Torres is out looking for Ryan who also never returned home," Lana said.
"You don't think..." Lynn said.
"God I hope not," Lana said.
"Come on, let's watch some news and find out what's going on," Danny said.
"Okay..." Lana said worriedly and the three of them walked back to the living room.
Elsewhere, in another house, a teenage girl was sitting on her bedroom floor, writing on a piece of lined paper.
Dear Sam,
I hate you.
The teenage girl crossed out what she wrote before trying again.
Dear Sam,
I wish we never met.
She sighed and looked away from the paper, then returned to it and crossed out and proceeded to write another message. An alarm went off, she turned the alarm off then rested the note on a box and walked out of her bedroom.
Dear Sam,
Go fuck yourself.
