I had just heard that the competition is actually called Abby's Ultimate Dance Competition. I didn't know who they were talking about until my mom told me that it's Abby from Dance Moms.
My face dropped when she told me this because Abby is famous. I couldn't believe I was going to meet her! She gave the most harsh critiques but it was all to make people better.
I called my dad and my sister Bella and I told them all about the competition. "I heard it's actually called Abby's Ultimate Dance Competition!" I smiled and laughed into the phone.
"Abby? You mean that snarky teacher from that kooky show? My dad laughed. I talked to them about the hotel and the flight, before my mom told me that I needed to get ready to leave.
Later:
The car finally arrived, my mom sat me down and stared me in the face. "You excited?" She asked me while grinning ear to ear. "Super excited!" I giggled. Me and my mom had to go get interviews.
"I'm Riley, I'm nine, and I'm from Clifton, New Jersey" I smiled. "Riley has been dancing since she was two, I think she has a good chance at winning, because she really knows how to bring it" I grinned watching my mom boast about me.
I went to the theater and my mom walked behind.
Jordyn ran over and dragged me by the arm introducing me to Asia, Tua, and Lexine. "This is Riley" she said laughing. We started playing around and joking while the older kids just talked.
The directors told us to line up with our moms behind us. I stood in front of my mom and waited to meet all the judges. I took a deep breath and squeezed my mom's hand really tight.
"Let's bring her out here right now!" Kevin (the host) eagerly shouted. "It's Abby Lee Miller!" I gasped and almost collapsed on the floor (however) my mom made sure I stood straight up. We all cheered and I bounced on my shoes.
I had a smile as bright as the sun. "We looked at thousands of dancers across the U.S" She broadcasted. "That's why you are here". My mom looked down at me and smiled, while I could barely breathe.
Next they brought out Robin Antin, who was supposedly the creator and choreographer of the pussycat dolls. Robin told us she was looking for not just the best dancer, but also a performer. Someone with a lot of sass.
I could bring it, I was fierce!
Last but definitely not least was Richy Jackson who was the choreographer for LADY GAGA! I could not believe my eyes! I cheered really loud.
The judges told us they had different combinations for us and would have to dance all three of them. I smiled as Richy took the stage and started dancing.
I saw him break it down and I clapped for him. I felt his vibe. I don't know if I could do it the same way he does! "Okayyy" I said hyping him up.
Next was Robin, her choreography was really sassy. I loved it she was great. Abby was last and her choreography was more like lyrical, and contemporary. I tried to pick it all up but she was going really fast and it was hard.
When they finished we all changed out of our fancy clothes into our dance attire and Anthony our choreographer started taking us through all the combinations. I felt the sweat dropping down my face.
"FIVE, SIX, SEVEN, EIGHT!" Anthony yelled. I made sure to keep my face calm but also sassy and have lot's of emotion.
We finished practicing and I went back to my mom. She fixed my hair and gave me a bottle of water. "Remember to give it all you got!" She reminded me. I nodded at her and kept drinking my water.
