"this just in, the president officially declares COVID-19 a national emergency, and it completely shutting down the entire country..."

your mouth was parted open in disbelief as you looked down at your phone, watching the youtube video on your screen. according to the video, everyone was required to wear a mask and stay within six feet of one another. you looked around at the people on the subway, guessing that they had already looked at the emergency broadcast also with how rowdy people were becoming, a man in the back starting to yell about how it was the end of the world.

you scooted over in your seat, earning a weird look from the woman sitting next to you. "ain't nobody worried bout you lil girl" she grunted as she mocked your movements, clutching her purse closer to her body.

of course you weren't trying to be rude, you were just being cautious, but you needed to get off this subway immediately, it was cramped and people were quite literally packed together like sardines, a breeding ground for bacteria.

your stop couldn't have approached faster as you quickly stood up and walked out, trying your best not to get too close to touch anyone else. out of the corner of your eye you seen someone had a stand set up in the subway and they were selling face masks, which you bought with no hesitation.

during your walk home you were kind of on edge, shaken up from the thought that you could get the virus from even being in the same room as someone who actually had it for too long, or simple just being next to the person even if you weren't touching them at all.

you walked inside of your apartment and seen katsuki putting on his jacket with his duffel bag hanging on his shoulder. "i'll be back later" your eyes widened and you quickly stepped in front of him. "no! you can't leave, it's not safe" he quirked his eyebrow up at you and confusion crossed over his face.

"the fuck are you talking about? and what's that stupid shit on your face?" you ignored his insults and pulled your phone out and pulled up the article before shoving it in his face, watching as his red eyes looked over the words before looking back at you. "it's just a little cold, shit's gonna go away soon enough" he pushed passed you and you groaned loudly.

"why can't you ever fucking listen?! god you're intolerable"

"why are you making such a big deal out of this? a new fucking virus comes out every month, they'll find a cure for it" katsuki shrugged. his nonchalance of the situation only addd fuel to the fire. "it's a big deal because people are dying kat'" you added emphasis on the word. "and i don't want anything to happen to you"

"why does it matter? not like you're my girlfriend anymore, worry about yourself" you were taken back from his harsh words towards you, before you could say anything else he opened the door and closed it behind him, leaving you standing alone in the apartment.

you were scared shitless. you chewed at your nails as you paced around the living room, eyes looking over at the time on your phone every two seconds to keep track. you exhaled deeply every now and then, trying to figure out where the hell he could be. there were certain times that his fights took longer than usual, but they were never prolonged this long, you couldn't help but wonder if he was okay.

you remembered katsuki's words from earlier, feet slowly coming to a halt. a hand running down your face as you laughed to yourself. "of course" you spoke in between chuckles "he's probably with some bitch right now" you wouldn't necessarily be surprised, disappointed maybe, but definitely not surprised.

you decided to brush it off, he said it himself that he didn't want you worried about him so why even stress yourself out. walking to your bedroom, you pulled out your phone, looking at all the texts you sent him, feeling like a complete dumbass.

the next morning, you seen him passed out on the couch, bottle of liquor in his hand with cuts and bruises decorating his pale skin. you sighed as you looked down at him on the couch, going to the bathroom to get your first aid kit before going back to the room, walking around the couch and sitting on the coffee table in front of him.

you grabbed the liquor bottle and put it behind you. your fingers grazed over the cuts on his face before you slapped his face a little to wake him up, watching as he groggily groaned before slowly opening up his eyes, squeezing them back shut due to the light entering through the window.

you grabbed an alcohol wipe, ripping it open with your teeth before roughly pressing it against one of his wounds which earned a sharp hiss from him. "could you be a little fucking gentle?!" he barked. you ignored him and continued to harshly rub the wipe onto his cuts, ignoring all the complaining from him. you picked up some ointment out of the plastic container and applied it to his wounds, trying your best to focus with his eyes burning holes into the side of your face.

you slapped a couple of bandaids on his face and put the stuff back inside of the plastic container. you sat there for a moment and gathered your thoughts before you spoke up. "next time you decide to spend your whole night out with a bitch, don't bother coming back" you lifted yourself off of the table ans walked out of the room, not missing the confused expression on katsuki's face.
