'.... Aai, that'll be all.' I said taking my fifth spoon of poha. My appetite was just not allowing me more. It took so much energy to bite and swallow!

'Okay! Okay!' Aai kept the bowl on the table and wiped my lips with the wipes.

'There...' meanwhile maushi had finished brushing and doing my hair into two braids. 'My Kavya is looking as cute as a doll.' she smiled.

I smiled. But, to be honest, the sudden sugar-coated words that Aai, maushi and others said to me...made me mad. I felt they were being good for no reason. Why? Are they shoeing pity towards me? But, why?

As I thought, I felt a sharp pain on my lower abdomen and suddenly, my mind trespassed the zone I set beyond my thoughts.

'Please, leave me alone.' I said, restlessly, much to the surprise of Aai and maushi.

'Kavya, what happened dear? Anything wrong?' Samundara maushi asked with a look of concern. Aai, though, looked down. I guess she has had enough of my outbursts in these few days.

'Akka.. let her be.' Aai said to her sister. 'I think we should leave her alone now. And this evening, we won't be the onlytwo visiting you.' Aai smiled running her hand on my head.

'What? Who?' I asked curiously.

Aai smiled. 'You'll see and you'll love it.'

I frowned. All these days Aai had been holding a lot of surprises for me. From my school friends to my colleagues in KDAH and even maushi! But, they all seemed so different. Nobody joked or even spoke with me naturally.

They had this weirdly melancholy tone filled with pity. Why? Because...

'When are they releasing me?' I asked.

Aai seemed to be confused but maushi spoke.

'Very soon, dear. I spoke with them yesterday. You just need few more tests. And they also have to make you fit to fly, remember? We all will be moving to Mangalore soon.' Maushi said.

Mangalore?!

'That'll be the best thing to do, Akka. Ever since I got married, this city has inflicted nothing but pain to me. I have had enough. We have had enough.' she said in a broken voice.

'When did you all plan that..?' I asked.

'May we come in, Ms. Dixit?' a sudden voice appearing at the door got my attention. There were two men, dressed in formals. I don't remember seeing them before.

'We are from the BCCI investigation team and the doctor told us Ms. Dixit would be fine to testify by now.' one of the men said.

My hurt jumped. Testify what? No..No..No.

'Who are you?' I asked restlessly.

'I'm Anant Shergill and he is Jaspreet Ahluwalia.' the guy said with a tight-lipped smile.
