The flight had landed, again way later than we expected. Even though, it might have been a boring one, Mayank was really a cool company and saved me from a big bad ride on my first day of job.

'What? You're scared?' Avinash said taking my hand in his as we rode in the team bus.

'A bit.' I said, truthfully. 'But, you didn't have to travel all around for me, you know.' I mentioned.

Despite being an owner, Avinash was traveling with the team just to support me in my job. How can I ever repay him?

'Ssshh..' he placed a finger on my lips. 'Told you not to talk about all these things. There are enough people to throw stones, babe.' he added.

I knew he was right. I, too, didn't want anybody to throw stones at Avi because he appointed his girlfriend as the manager if the team. Our excessive appearance with each other, may trigger those unhealthy emotions in a hater's mind and I didn't want that to happen for the sake of the team.

'I understand. I shall remember that, Avi.' I said with a smile.

'And...Kavya...uhm... as I was saying, some if my friends from the corporate world wants to see you, after I mentioned about us.' he said with a smile. 'So, please, be ready tomorrow evening. Also, make sure, my girlfriend is the centre of attention in that party, if you know what I mean.' he winked.

I was a little confused. 'Me, being the centre of attention? No, Avi. These are high-class people you are talking about!'

'Come on babe! I'm not asking you to dance on a table to get their attention. Just be presentable enough so that they say...man! Avinash is a lucky guy!' je said wrapping an arm around.

I forced a smile on my face, not wanting to talk more on it.

'I better look at the hotel room preferences again.' I said, changing the topic.

20 minutes later

'Here you go... a room with the best sunset view.' I handed the key to Mayank.

'Thanks a lot, Kavya. You are great!' He thanked me as he, too, walked near the elevator.

'This one's got a balcony too, just like you wanted.' I handed the key to Shami.

'Thank you.' he smiled. 'Means a lot.'

'Not a problem.' I said.

I took the one meant for KLR and took a deep breath. He was speaking with another guest in the hotel at the reception lobby.

'Three more left, isn't it?' the receptionist asked.

'Yeah. I'll give them. Thanks a lot for your cooperation.' I thanked the polite lady.

'Just doing my job.' she smiled.

I saw Nicholas Pooran, making his way first.

'Hey! You're Kavya, right?' the West Indian all-rounder asked.

'Yes, pleased to meet you Mr. Pooran. Here are your keys.' I handed him the one.

'Thanks a lot, Kavya and please, call me Nick.' he smiled getting the keys. 'Also, you mind sending my lunch in my room. The long flight has strained my back a little.' he said stretching a little.

'Oh..sure, don't worry.' I assured.

'Thanks a lot.' Nicholas said, as he walked near the elevator.
