Someone was knocking on the door of Cheuse's room continuously waking her up disoriented. She grumpily grabbed her phone on the bedside table and opened it to look at the time.
It's already eight in the morning.
"What?" She answered looking annoyed.
Lachita was used to her niece's attitude every time she would wake her up early in the morning.
"Your teacher called me earlier. Hinahanap ka niya. Bakit hindi ka daw pumunta ng school?" Tanong ni Lachita.
Cheuse's forehead creased and her eyes were full of displeasure. "What did she mean? Wala naman akong sinalihan na kahit anong program para sa training camp ah."
"Then you better call her right away for confirmation," Lachita suggested as she recalled the hurried voice of the teacher.
"Wait a moment." She dialed her class adviser's phone number and it was a good thing that her teacher answered it immediately.
"Hello? Blanc, is this you?" Her teacher, Miss Tyra, asked on the other line.
"Yeah. Why the hell are you looking for me?" Cheuse answered in an irritated voice.
"Of course to ask why you did not come to the fucking school?" Miss Tyra also answered in an irritated voice.
The difference between them is that Cheuse is irritated because she's still sleepy, while Miss Tyra just uses the tone because she is teasing Cheuse. What a good teacher she is.
Cheuse calmed herself down and raised her eyebrows. "Why would I? I'm not a participant."
Miss Tyra on the other line facepalmed and couldn't help but scold her favorite student. "You idiot. Have you forgotten what I assigned you last week?"
Cheuse tried to recall what Miss Tyra meant and finally remembered it. "You mean..... to became one of the officers who will maintain the order and peace of the training camp?
"Yes!" Miss Tyra exclaimed on the other line. Nagkatinginan naman ang mga estudyanteng nakapalibot sa kanya.
One of the students whispered to her classmate who was standing beside her. "Try to guess who Miss Tyra is talking to."
The classmate giggled as she answered, "Obviously, it's the leader."
While the students are whispering to each other. Miss Tyra is waiting for Cheuse to continue talking. Finally,
"Did I agree to that? I don't think so." Cheuse smirked.
'I know it.' Miss Tyra also smirked on the other line. She already expected this kind of reply. "Well, you don't have a choice because even the head teacher and principal already knew it. I passed them the list last week. So if you're not coming, then good luck." Then, she laughed like an evil villain before hanging up.
Cheuse glared at her phone. Why did she have a very annoying teacher? She looked up, only to see her aunt smiling at her.
She sighed. "I'm going to school after lunch."
