Chapter 11

After watching their favorite movie, Cheuse watched as the two little boys bawled their eyes out.

They're inside their own home mini theatre. The two kids, who were bored to death, had a tacit understanding as they both decided to watch a movie. They immediately told their big sister about it but got brutally rejected saying it's not the time for kids to go outside to watch a movie. As they couldn't go outside because the sun was about to set, they just decided to watch in the mini home theatre that was rarely used. The two kids picked the movie using a wheel picker application on Cheuse's phone. They put all the movies that they both like and spin it.

Cheuse stood up and went outside the room to avoid hearing their miserable cries. Before she closes the door, she even hears Thirdy's question.

"Bohoo...Why did Iron Man have to die, Big sister?" Thirdy utters while sobbing.

Napailing na lang si Cheuse at tuluyang isinarado ang pinto. Hindi na niya mabilang kung pang-ilang tanong na ang itinanong sa kanya ng dalawang bata. They're still full of curiosity even though they watched the movie for the nth time.

While walking in the direction of the living room, she suddenly received a message. She looked at her phone and saw that it was a message from her aunt.

Aunt L: Saan niyo gustong kumain?

Aunt L: Nagtanong Uncle Sergi niyo.

Cheuse paused on her footsteps before walking back to where she came from. When she opens the door, the kids are still crying. She really applauds this movie, because it can even make her cunning and smart little brother cry.

"Hey, hey, calm down and stop crying, kids," Cheuse said as she walked towards them and patted both of their heads. The two immediately calm down and stop crying, but they are still sobbing.

"Uncle asked where do you want to eat?" Cheuse asked them.

Faust rubbed his red eyes and answered, "Hmm. I don't know."

"I also don't know." Thirdy looked at Cheuse with his puffy eyes. "You decide, Big sister."

Cheuse sighed. "Okay. We're going to eat here. I'm going to cook." Then, she held her little brother's hand while putting her other arm on Thirdy's shoulder as he was taller than her brother.

"Yey! I'm eating big sister's homemade foods. It's been a long time since I tasted your dish, big sister." Thirdy excitedly said.

Faust nodded as he agreed with his cousin. "True, me too." He looked up to see his big sister's face. He was surprised to see her smiling, even though it was subtle, it was still a smile. "Big sister rarely cooks and she only cooks if she's in an extremely good mood."

They arrived in the kitchen and Cheuse put away her hands off them and started looking for available ingredients in the fridge. While looking in the fridge, she asked the two guys who were sitting on a bar stool in front of the kitchen island table while playing games on their phones. "What do you guys want for dinner?"

"I want an air-fried chicken," Faust said as he attacked Thirdy's shadow character.

Thirdy quickly defended his shadow character from the deadly attack of his little cousin. "Fried rice and fish steak."

Cheuse nodded. "Okay. Got it." She closed the refrigerator and started picking up the necessary ingredients for the dishes she was going to cook.

She walked towards the big freezer next to the refrigerator and got the chicken that was already cut and brined by Lachita and was placed in the ziplock bag. She also gets the container where Lachita puts the already clean and chopped barilis fish. She picked up at least ten slices of frozen barilis fish and put them in a small basin and ran it down with water in the sink. Then she puts the ziplock bag containing the brined chicken directly into a separate small basin and also runs it with water and lets it soak.
