I can see that you're in trouble
I'm scared to ask you why
I know I'll want to fix it
I know I'll want to try.
But what if I can't help you
If what I say sounds wrong
If I make matters worse
Forcing you to be too strong.
You might feel I don't get it
Sense stuff different than you
You could see me as opposition
even though that isn't true.
Should I just quietly leave it
Let you battle on your own
Not risking a bad word
Avoiding to be thrown.
I just can't have you thinking
You're fighting your demons alone
So I'll risk your pain and anger
I'm gonna face the big unknown.
