You say that eyes
Are windows to the soul
With just one glance
Your story unfolds
You can't disguise
Anything you'd ever want to hide
And while that may be true
Eyes are jail cells too
You are looking out
But you are trapped inside
Unable to leave
Your lethal mind
You grip at the bars
And scream and cry
That's the reason why
You always see the truth
In our eyes
We are trying to escape
This body that we hate
The voice that lies
The scars we hide
Our eyes show our sadness
Our sleepless nights
They tell the truth
And that's why we avert our eyes
We look down when people pass by
Because we're afraid
What someone will see inside.
