I was getting ready to leave to go to Zac's place, when I couldn't find Poseidon. Thinking that he's in the cave, I went over to the book shelf and pulled on the mermaid book and the book case opened.
I walked into the cave and I heard the door open again and looked behind me to see my mom.
"Hey, mom have you seen Poseidon?" I asked and before she could say anything I heard a meow. Looking down, I saw the cat I'm looking for. "Poseidon, I found, or you found me." I giggled before taking up Poseidon and rest him in my arms.
Mom walked further into the place with a look so I followed her. We got to the center, just to see three merman hating girls looking through mom stuff.
"Somebody already knows Rita's secret." I heard Lyla say while holding a picture of my mom and dad.
"Put that down." Mom demanded, catching their attention. I placed Poseidon down and walked down the steps over to Lyla and snatch the picture frame out of her hand. "This place is private." Mom told them as she took the dress and crown out of the others hand. "These things are not for you."
"We didn't mean any harm." Serena tried to defend them and I just rolled my eyes.
Mom looked at them with a stern look before taking the picture frame out of my hands and looked down at with a sad look before walking over to the table.
"So you get to tell whoever you like that you're a mermaid." Lyla said, and I turned to her with a glare.
"If you don't shut your mouth I will freeze it shut." I threatened.
"Its okay, Kaia. His name was Harry." Mom said before turning and slightly glaring at the three girls. "I told him because he was going to be my husband and the father to my child." Mom snapped at them.
"You were going to marry a human?" Nixy asked.
"I don't expect you to understand. Just go back to the sea, the land is not for you." Mom told them.
"But Zac-" Serena tried to say but I cut her off.
"Forget Zac. I get that you want your stupid pod back, but going after him will only draw attention to yourselves and once these land people find out you're a mermaid, they would want to experiment on you, then come after us." I explained to them how risky it would be.
"We'll be careful/." Nixy stated and I scoffed.
"You mean like how you were on the beach? Or at school with the fountain?" I sarcastically asked.
"You have no idea what this world is like." Mom said. "You don't even get that you can't keep stealing clothes, you have to buy them. I made a new life. So can you." Mom turned to me before looking back at them. "I want you gone before the sun goes down." Mom turned on her heel and stormed back up stairs.
I looked at them before shaking my head.
"Honestly, you guys don't have to do everything the Council says, its not your fault what happened to Zac and you guys shouldn't be forced to fix it, its not something that can be fixed." I said before walking up the stairs but pausing. "If you guys want clothes, just come to me." And then I walked out, leaving them with their thoughts.

When I got to Zac's place, I opened the door and heard they were talking about going to the reef.
"Sorry, I'm late." I spoke, making my presence known as I walked over to Zac and wrap my arms around his torso.
"Why were you late?" Cam asked and I rolled my eyes.
