A naïve hopeless one.
They put their trust on anything and leave it be, get crushed by a foot and say sorry.
They struggle with broken wings to reach the above, but make a cruel fall with nothing to adore
They crawl in the surface searching for a hand, rotten and ignored with no chance of being held.
Joe was back to her old self. Completely isolating herself. No contact with anyone at all.
She did not even deliver her manuscript the next day. Ghosted Eric.
Her loneliness suited her so she kept thinking. The past few months felt like daydreaming. She is back to the way she has always been. Alone, completely alone. Full isolation.
Her father appearance caused her to revert back to the way she initially was. Only the few minutes she spent in front of him. Destroyed her, totally.
4pm.
Both Louise and Eric met in front of Joe's door.
-Ah...you must be Eric?
-Yes, I am and...you are Louise?
-That is right! It is nice to finally meet you!
-You must be worried about Joe? She has not been returning my calls...I tried coming her couple of times but she did not open her door...I am really worried about her...Since last week she completely cut me off...
-Tell me about it! She was supposed to deliver her manuscript but I have not received anything. We were supposed to meet at the backend and discuss it together.
Louise has a spare key of Joe's apartment in case of an emergency and so they used it.
-Joe! It is me! Louise!
Eric went to her bedroom and knocked before entering. There layed Joe in bed covering all her face with a sheet.
Eric silently sat next to her and kept patting her back.
-The manuscript is on the desk. Take it and leave. Will you do that Louise? Please. I will take care of Joanna.
Louise simply nodded, left the key and quitted the place.
-So, are you going to talk to me? I will keep patting your back all night if it takes. Said Eric.
Joe turned around while still hiding her face, and reached out for Eric's hand, grabbed it tightly.
-I have missed you. A lot. The backend without you seems so dull, even the coffee does not taste the same anymore...
-I...am...sorry...so...sorry...I just cannot...
She is letting her old demons in, being engulfed by them completely.
But the warmth of his hand felt reassuring.
-I believe in you Joe. I really do. Not that men we met, not anyone can tell you otherwise. You are incredible. Being next to you, ever since we met...I have changed so much and I am sure you did too.
-I...just feel like...I will never be...enough. No matter what I do...I will never be enough.
-You are to me. You are more than enough.
Eric has become so much important to Joe. His existence meant everything to her. She took off the sheets and hugged him. There they stayed together in bed all night. She has not eaten properly for a week. He cooked something for her and they ended up watching a movie together.
He finally made her laugh.
It meant the entire world to him.
He loved her, so much.
