Chapter Eight

Not having with whom to share his happiness, the blue bird slumbered in an awful state. Longing for company, he kept searching in vain...till...

Eric went home with the widest grin there is to have. For the very first time, he enjoyed his time during a date. Joe has become a very important person to him. He has not felt these emotions towards another person, ever. And here he is thinking and longing for a Saturday to meet her and enjoy her company even more. He was-is getting addicted to her presence more and more.

-So, Eric how's Joanna? Declared Khalid with a slight smirk.

-She's busy finishing her novel...

-awe, so she will not meet you tomorrow? Said Jack, Mathew and Khalid while laughing out loud.

-Ha-ha...laugh all you want...whispered Eric sorrowfully.

And it is Saturday, today Eric got to the backend earlier than usual, sitting on table ten with his cup of coffee, hoping she would show up.

-She is just a friend...a precious friend...that is it...that is all...he kept thinking.

-Good morning, Eric! Said Joe while grabbing him onto his shoulders.

-Good morning, Joanna! I honestly did not expect for you to come today, considering the deadline of your manuscript approaching.

-You know it is our ritual! I am gladly obliged to be at the backend every Saturday morning. Said Joe while having the sweetest smile there is or so Eric thought.

Their morning together full of fun and interesting conversations about a variety of things, yet they never ever brought up their family or relatives or anything of the sort in their conversations. They nevertheless did not mind at all.

Laying down at night Eric kept thinking of Joanna. It is all he has been thinking the past couple of weeks, Joanna's smile, her voice, vibrating red hair, even her touch, especially her touch. He was most definitely falling in love with her, yet still unaware of it all.

The only real relationship he has had was with his three friends, nothing more nothing less. He has not been in contact with his estranged family for many years now.

Right now, there is a very important person in his life, who he cherishes and must I say love deeply and that is no other than Joanna.

-I love her...Afterall. Declared Eric out loud in his empty bedroom.
