previously on rescuing robin...

"what the hell happened chief?" a paramedic said as hopper ran up the ambulance.

"it can wait, get her some help" he ordered, placing robin in the paramedics arms

he nodded, taking robin to the back of the ambulance and packing her away.

"PLEASE" i screamed, running up to the ambulance "please, please i need to go with her. she needs me"

"fine, grab a seat but we need to go now!" he said as i scurried in.

the ambulance drove off a top speed out of the clearing, leaving everyone stood there speechless.

steve running his hands through his hair
eddie pacing back and forth repeatedly saying "holy shit! holy shit!"
max was still crying and eleven was doing her best to comfort her
lucas, will, mike and dustin just stood there in complete horror.
joyce had her hand over her mouth in disbelief and hopper had his arm around her staring after the ambulance.

"is she going to be okay?" joyce stammered
"i honestly couldn't tell you" hopper replied, sighing heavily.

nancy wheeler point of view

it had been days since robin was admitted to the hospital.

the first day was possibly the worst day of my life: robin was rushed into hospital and at the start i was told by doctors that she had dies en route. i'm called bullshit and when they checked again they found a very weak pulse.

"snapped fibula, broken ankle, broken wrist, chipped cranium and a fractured clavicle. my goodness is she lucky to be alive" the doctor told me.

if only he knew how lucky...

she had undergone surgery to mend her leg, which had been completely snapped into two separate pieces. they were able to fix the leg with screws and two metal bars. it just meant that robin would have to wear a metal splint type thing for a while after wards.

due to her other ankle being broken and also her wrist, she wouldn't be able to use crutches so a wheelchair was the only option.

when we found this out, the kids decorated a second hand wheelchair with glitter and rainbows and paint so robin would wheel in style, when she woke up of course.

she would drift in and out of consciousness, which apparently is normal to happen after severe trauma. i'm honestly just happy to have her back.

day by day, she just lay there in her bed, broken up and bruised.

her head in a bandage, scars and bruises laced her face, a metal splint down her left leg and white plaster casts on her wrist and right ankle.

she did look a sore sight.

the doctors had given her a private room due to all the people having to go in and out all the time to take blood, run tests, check vitals and the whole shebang.

they were kind enough to set me up a camp bed in the corner of the room so i didn't have to leave her at night.

steve and eddie would bring essentials up for us and put food down for our cat when they were going past the apartment. everyone really rallied around together for her, i think she's be so proud.

max comes and visits almost every day. it's good for her to see her i think, and it also gives me some time to go outside and breathe normal human air or go visit my parents for an hour.

robins mum never visited. her stepdad for reasons down to a restraining order couldn't come even if he wanted to. i think it's vile that her own mother can't even care that her daughter is laying good for dead in a hospital. at least her dad visits. she has an ice relationship with her dad, although he lives up in Indianapolis with his new wife and their twin toddlers. her sister izzy visits all the time. we often cry together and share our favourite memories of her together. i hope robin knows that i am looking after izzy like a sister, because she sorely needs one.
