The guards ran right behind me with as much speed as possible. I lunged forward again, jumping from wall to wall. At this moment, was untouchable. "She cannot leave the castle! Get her!" The guards called to one another. They didnt wish to hurt me. only capture me. Finally the castle doors were in my sight. A grin spread over my face at the sigh of it slowly coming down. I can so make this. I thought. I slid to a stop just as the king appeared in front of the doors. "Kamina!" His voice hissed. It sounded like an anchor hitting the bottom of the sea. I dusted off some dirt on my kimono and settled my wait on one foot. "Yes?" I asked innocently. Te man before me gave me a stern look and lifted his arm. The guards coming behind him.
"Your truly are troublesome. Capture her!" He ordered. I sighed as the guards charged at me. "And you truly are persistent." The many hands lunged at me from all directions. I easily jumped high into the air, avoiding capture, and landed gracefully away from them. I smirked and continued running. Opening my fan, I covered the bottom half of my face as Iran past the royal guards. They couldn't even follow my movements. I ran past the king, my speed blowing his kimono back. The doors just inches from the ground told my feet to jump. They obeyed and in the next second I was using the two doors as leverage as I slipped out. " Free!" I smiled and ran through the green field of grass.
The wind whipped at my face, blowing my pitch black hair back. I continued to run further away from the castle until I thought would suffice. When I stopped, I was at a clear river with trees keeping it isolated from the world. This would be perfection. I took a deep breath, and kept my demonic aura hidden so the guards wouldnt be able to track me further. "A pit stop wont hurt" I muttered to myself and walked over to the riverbank. I bent down and stared at the moving water. Calm and clear, showing my reflection. I looked like a normal human. Wat gave it away? My blood red eyes. I poked my finger out onto the surface of the water, feeling the cool temperature on my skin. When the water finished shifting in small waves, the image of my reflection cleared. I smiled into the water. My head shot over my shoulder after seeing the second figure in the reflection.
When I turned around, behind me stood a teenage boy with snow white hair and gold eyes. The markings on his face told me one thing. Demon. My eyes scanned him until they landed on the sword at his waist. He noticed and held both his hands up. "Dont get scared, im no there to hurt you." He promised. I relaxed a bit and put away my fan. " You shouldnt come up on people like that. You nearly scared me to death." I glared at him. The boy smiled nervously and scratched the back of his head. " Forgive me. I didnt mean to." I stood up from the ground and smiled. "No worries! I was just looking at the river." I said a bit sadly as i looked at the water over my shoulder. "You seem sad." He said, walking to my side. I looked up at his demonic gold eyes. "You could say so. I escaped. For me, this river is haven." I whispered. The boy nodded and looked up into the sky. "You felt trapped. I understand." He said. I smiled and nodded. "Ill have to go back though. It's important enough." I continued, looking up at the sky as well. "My name's Kamina. And you are?" The boy looked down at me and took a second to respond. He stared deep into my eyes before talking again. "Sesshomaru. Nice to meet you." He smiled, holding out a hand. I returned the smile and shook his hand.
It was around sundown by the time sesshomaru and I were about finished talking. We splashed in the river and caught some fish. Now, we just sat on some rocks as we watched the sunset. "Whats your excuse? For leaving your home." I asked. He rested his arm on his knee and looked at me. "Same as you I suppose. I needed some freedom." I nodded in understanding and sighed. "A shame we wont see each other again. You were different." I smiled. Sadness pulling at the corners of my lips. I felt a warm hand on top of mine, and I looked at sesshomaru. " We will see each other again. I promise. Ill find a way to find you." I giggled and nodded, as I held his hand. "Lets promise one thing, Sesshy." started as I got up, pulling him up as well. "What Kami?" I gave his hand a gentle squeeze and smiled. "Promise me that no matter what, we will stay best friends. Even if we dont see each other again." I said. Sesshomaru shot me one of his handsome smiles and nodded. "I promise, Kamina." With that, we sealed the new bond with a hug and smile.
Afterwards, we each parted a different sides of the river, waving goodbye to the other. I watched as he turned his back to me and I watched him slowly walk away. A stray tear slid down my cheek as I watched my one and only friend leave me. I then turned and headed back for the castle. My home.
