Two years later, still no sign of Logan. You hadn't given up the hope of finding him, though. Professor and Hank assured you that he was safe at a place around the earth to make you feel better. You were grateful, really. And now, you are about to graduate from this gifted school tomorrow morning. A new stage of your life was about to begin..., as you thought.

"Professor, you wish to see me?" you were in the professor's office by order, making a cup of coffee for the mentor as you came in. The man with a British accent smiled at your favor and motioned you to sit on the sofa as he spoke, "Indeed. I want to discuss your career options after graduation. I know you've always wanted to be a therapist, correct?" You nodded your head frantically, with your lips parted to pull a toothy beam. "Now, here's my offer," said the professor after taking a sip of his cup of Joe, "I was planning to set up a health center next to Hank's inventory lab. Therefore, I'll need a school doctor. As you know, Hank has too much work to do, so he won't be able to fulfill the duty as well as a school doctor. Now with you learning beside him as his little assistance, you know how to tend wounds and do a great job being a mental counselor. Students can also come to you if they need someone to talk to ."

Your lips parted slightly for the surprise offer, unable to utter a sound because you were beyond happy. "What do you say, (Y/N)? Are you willing to stay and serve as our school doctor? Don't worry; you'll get paid." Professor's brow raised when he didn't get any response from you, with an uneasy look spreading across his face. Although he could read your mind and tell you that you were very excited about the news, he thought it wouldn't be polite to help you make decisions from within.

In fact, your mind was about to explode. Ever since the graduation date was finalized, the pit in your stomach grew more painful as the days went by. You were scared. Scared to leave the school, where you received most help and comfort from two adults you had grown close bonds with. When the professor announced the news that students were able to leave the school by the middle of June, it sounded like some taboo language to you, while the other students recognized it as music to their ears.

"I'll accept the offer, professor. Thank you so much!" you quickly responded right after screaming at the top of your lungs. So loud that even Hank and Alex had jokingly sworn that Canada could hear you screeching with laughter. In addition to the job offer, your mother agreed to let you stay in New York because she's finally decided to carry out the dream of traveling to other countries. She could no longer watch over you and Byron since you both were adults. Better yet, you and Byron had jobs to afford your living expenses.

Tomorrow's a big day, you thought. You were going to graduate and work as a school doctor...so many glad tidings for Peter to know. As soon as you dialed the number to the Maximoff resident, the phone picked up instantly. "Hello?" you heard as the raspy voice of Peter came through the receiver. "Morning, sleepy head," you greeted with a giggle. A yawn came from the other end of the phone, followed by a low chuckle, "You miss me that much? How dare you disturb my beauty sleep. Can't have enough of my touch while we were watching Jaws yesterday, eh?"

"Shut up," you let out a squeak in shame. Apparently, you and Peter were dating; right after the very same night, you got wasted and poured your heart out to him, and he returned the feelings. You two are a couple after he took you on a second date. He didn't visit you so often nowadays because you guaranteed him that no one would ask you out, so that he didn't have to dash all the way here, to Westchester, to hang out with you. Besides, you were so busy with all the homework and assignments the professor and other teachers laid out. "What? It's true. You didn't argue back when I tried to make out with you. Maybe I've spoiled you overmuch."

You laughed at his joke, twirling the cable like a sheepish girl as you replied, "It's eleven already, Pete. Care to explain what else you did last night; besides taking me out?" To you, it was strange that Peter would sleep this late. He usually gets up at around six to send Lorna to school. Furthermore, you came back to the mansion at ten last night, and it wasn't even that late when Peter rushed back home. Except if he did something else that drained his energy from waking up early.
