The next couple of days made Steve's brain hurt, not only did he constantly think about the night with Billy at the bar, but his parents decided to come home for two weeks. He should've been happy about it, no more lonely and quiet nights in a huge house alone, but he wasn't.

Before Steve could even greet his father and ask him about their time in the city he was bombarded with questions about his grades, college and when he was going to get a 'proper' job and start supporting himself. With everything going on in his life he hadn't had a second to even think about any actual 'adult' things. His grades had been getting worse, fighting monsters and nightmares didn't really give him much time to study.

The whole Billy 'situation' wasn't helping either, Steve wasn't surprised when Billy hadn't come to school, but it had now been over a week, and nobody had seen him at all.

Another school day went by in a flash and still no sign of Billy, Steve didn't want to admit it but he was worried. The last time Steve was worried about Billy he went looking for him, so he decided to the same again tonight, except alone.

He went straight home after school, changing out of his shirt and jeans and into something more comfortable before running down his stairs and to the front door. "Where do you think your going Steve?" His father shouted behind him as he opened the front door.

Steve didn't know what to say, 'oh I'm going to stalk this boy that I've been kissing recently, and he keeps ignoring me' Steve had to think about what he was about to say, his father wouldn't approve of him driving around the town when he could be studying.

"Some friends from school are having a study group" Steve lied straight through his teeth, smiled, and left hoping his father believed him. He got into his car and went straight to his first location. The quarry. He drove a regular speed and got there to see it empty, not a single car. His second stop was the bar. He knew Billy wouldn't be here, it was only 5pm, the bar probably wasn't even open but Steve didn't know where else to go. Billy's car was still nowhere to be seen.

The next stop was Billy's house. He drove past and looked for the car to see it parked right outside Billy's house. Finally. Steve drove around the block so he could park up and go and see Billy, which he knew was probably another stupid decision. By the time he got back to Billy's Street his car was gone.

Steve sighed; Billy was definitely ignoring him.

Steve went back to the quarry, he didn't want to go back home yet, he couldn't handle having another conversation with his father. So he sat in silence, other cars came and went as he sat there, a million and one thoughts flying through his head. He got tired fast, while his parents had been home, he wasn't sleeping. The last thing Steve wanted was for his mother to have to wake him up from a nightmare, or worse, his father. Steve would never hear the end of it.

It was getting dark out when Steve finally decided to make his way home, he took the long way back hoping that his parents would be asleep when he finally arrived home. What Steve wasn't expecting to see was that car he was searching for this whole time to be parked near Steve's house.

Steve parked on his drive as usual, as he was getting out his car a person appeared. It was Billy. Steve walked over to him about to ask where he had been the past week but what he saw stopped him. Billy's face was covered in bruises, some old dried blood also by the looks of it, Steve didn't speak and neither did Billy.

Steve took Billy's hand gently and guided him to the front door, opening it as quietly as possible. "Go straight upstairs to my room" Steve whispered and Billy nodded, making his way up the stairs. Steve checked downstairs to find his parents had both gone to bed themselves. As Steve made his way into his room he seen Billy sat on the edge of his bed, the bruises and marks becoming more clear.

"What happened Billy"
