Steve and the rest of the party spent the night at the Byers. Billy however went home, said he had 'stuff to do'.

The next morning came round, and Steve couldn't move, his muscles sore from swinging the bat to try and kill the demodogs. He got up and made his way slowly to the kitchen, following the smell of bacon and eggs.

"Morning" the person said who was busy frying the bacon on the stove. Steve didn't reply, didn't even have the energy to say a simple hello.

"Last night was crazy wasn't it?" The person said, who Steve realised was Nancy. Steve got the energy to nod his head to Nancy's question. She smiled at him and reached for the plates. She put two pieces of bacon on a plate and an egg and placed it in front of Steve at the table.

"Mrs Byers doesn't have enough food for us all, i don't think she prepared for all of us to have a sleepover" Nancy said in a laugh as she moved back over to the stove and continued to cook the bacon for the rest of the kids. Steve ate the food he was given, spending the time in silence to remember everything that had happened last night.

Once he was done, he washed his plate and gave it back to Nancy as she was also ruining out of plates for people. Steve returned to the front room where everyone was finally waking up. Steve folded the sheets he had slept with and collected his clothes from the day before. He said a quiet goodbye and headed out the house and towards his car.

Steve would never get used to fighting demodogs, his body aching and his mind trembling with fear. He started his car up and proceeded to drive away as fast as his car could handle until he arrived at his house where his car was not alone.

"Hey" Steve said as he pulled his weak body out of his car and walked towards the door.

"Hey" Billy mumbled as he stopped leaning on the bonnet on his car and followed closely behind Steve into the Harrington house. Steve walked in, leaving the door open for Billy and walked right up to his room so he could lie on a proper bed.

Billy was close behind as he discarded his shoes and jacket and sat on the edge of Steve's bed. Steve watched Billy twitch and open his mouth to say something but didn't say anything. Simply watching Billy struggle to communicate.

"Spit it out" Steve said, growing tired of the silence. Billy turned around and continued to sit in silence watching Steve stare back at him.

Steve was getting tired and angry at the silence, it was unlike Billy, usually Steve would be getting annoyed at Billy for talking constantly not the opposite. Steve sat up on his bed and watched Billy move himself backwards so he was sat next to Steve.

Still silent, still twitching.

Steve turned to face Billy and open his mouth to once again reprimand Billy for not talking when Billy finally did something, something Steve didn't expect.

A kiss.

A simple kiss, not like the one while fighting, more sweet. This kiss felt different, it didn't feel as though it could be their last. More like their beginning.
