Chapter 7

Alice POV

Steve tried desperately to wake her but getting nowhere. We were all in Eddie's room looking for music which would wake Nancy up apparently when Erica entered the room "Steve says you need to hurry!" She said and we all looked through Eddie's cassette tapes "Seriously? What is all this shit?" Robin asked with a bunch of tapes in her hand "what are you even looking for?" Eddie asked looking through all the tapes "Madonna, Blondie, Bowie, Beetles? Music! We need music!" Robin said and Eddie grabbed the tape out of her hands "THIS IS MUSIC!" He said and we heard Steve "woah, woah, woah, it's okay, it's okay." He said and I sighed with relief "she's awake." I said and we all ran for the living room. When they got out, we went over to Max's place where Nancy told us what she saw. "He showed me things that haven't happened yet. The most awful things, I saw a dark cloud spreading over Hawkins. Downtown on fire. Dead soldiers... and this giant creature with a gaping mouth and this creature wasn't alone. There were so many monsters, an army." She whispered "And they were coming into Hawkins, into our neighborhoods, our homes. He showed me my mom and Holly, Mike, and they... They were all..." She tried to say and I felt kind of bad for her. I know my brother can make things seem a hundred times worse. "Okay but... He's just trying to scare you Nance" Steve said and I agreed with him "he's right. Don't let it get to you." I said and she looked at me "that's not the worst part." She said and stood up standing in front of me "what is?" Steve asked "He showed me Alice standing on a pile of corpses next to him and she looked like she enjoyed being with... her brother." She spat and everyone looked at me "what is she talking about Alice?" Eddie asked me and I looked at him "Henry or Vecna or whatever you wanna call him is my brother." I said and they all looked mortified "when were you planning on telling us this huh? When you kill all our friends and families?" Lucas asked venomously "What? No, I was never gonna kill anybody." I said crossing my arms "So that makes lying to us, okay?" Max asked and I rolled my eyes "say what you will but I never lied to any one of you." I said and they all looked disgusted with me "you never told me your brother is Vecna." Eddie said and I looked at him "because he's not. Henry is my brother." I said crossing my arms "you should go." Nancy said and the rest of the group agreed with her except for Dustin and Eddie who stayed silent "If I go now, you're as good as dead." I said and they all refused to make eye contact with me "fine, have fun dying." I said leaving and slamming the door shut. Once the door was shut, I ran like hell as far away as my legs could take me. The words that everyone said playing over and over in my head. I found a park a few blocks away and sat on one of the swings thinking about what to do next I sighed feeling a few tears stain my cheeks. I angrily wiped them away, I knew if they were going after my brother alone, they would all die but maybe I can distract him long enough for them to get out of Hawkins. I thought over my plan and began making my way back to Eddie's trailer. When I entered, it all looked exactly the same way we left it. I looked down at my shirt to see it is still full of blood "shit kinda forgot about this." I said and I thought for a while looking at Eddie's room 'well he hates me enough as it is, I'm sure he won't mind me stealing one of his shirts.' I thought as I went to his room and grabbed a hellfire shirt from his drawers. Climbing back into the upside down, I walked out of the trailer and started walking looking for monsters "come on, brother. It's just you and me now." I said out loud "HENRY!" I called until I saw a swarm of bats "can't face me alone, you coward?" I ask and then I bumped into something. I turned around and he was standing right behind me "on the contrary sister. I have been waiting for you." He said before it all went black for me.  

Eddie POV

We were all still in Max's trailer contemplating on what to do now. "Okay so we just lost our Wonder Woman, anyone got any ideas on what to do now?" Lucas asked as Max tried to get a hold of the others "No idea but whatever's happening in Lenora is connected to all of this. I'm sure of it." Nancy said and looked out the window "but Vecna can't hurt them, not if he's dead. We have to go back in there back to the upside down." She said and we all disagreed with her "let's think this through." Steve said and walked over to her "what is there to think through?" Nancy asked "We barely made it out of there in one-piece without Alice." Steve said and I rubbed the back of my neck "Yeah because we weren't prepared. But this time we will be. We'll get weapons and protection. We'll go through the gate; we'll find his lair and kill him." She said and Dustin spoke up "what about Alice?" He asks and we all look at him "what do you mean?" Steve asked and he looked at me "If everything Vecna showed you is true, she'll most likely be there protecting him." He said and I sighed "He's right, we can't trust her." Max said "The only reason you survived is because he wanted you too. He's not scared of us." Steve said and Robin stood up "And for good reason, we were wrong about Vecna, Henry, One, sorry what are e calling him now?" She asked and everyone answered something different "right, we learned something new about Vecna/Henry/One, he's a number like eleven only a sick, evil, male, child-murdering version of her with really bad skin. But my point is he's super powerful. He could turn us inside out with the snap of his fingers and now he has Alice. It's not a fair fight." Robin said catching her breath "So then why fight fair?" Dustin asked "You're right he's like eleven but that gives us an upper hand. We know Eleven's strengths and weaknesses." He said "Weaknesses?" Erica asked "When El remote travels, she goes into this sort of trance-like state. I'll bet you it's the same with Vecna." He said "That would explain what he was doing in that attic." Lucas said "Exactly, when he attacks his next victim, I'll bet you he's back in the attic, physical body defenseless." Dustin said "Defenseless yeah, what about the army of bats?" Steve asked "Right yeah, we'll have to find a way past those, distract them somehow." Dustin said "And how do we do that, exactly?" I ask standing up from the couch "no idea." Dustin said and I fell back on the couch "but once their gone, he doesn't stand a chance. It'll be like slaying sleeping Dracula in his coffin" Dustin said "that all sounds good in theory but there is no pattern to Vecna's killings, I mean at least not one that I can decipher. We don't know when he's going to attack next, we don't even know who he's going to attack next" Robin said then Max spoke up "yeah, we do. I can still feel him. I'm still marked, cursed, I ditch Kate Bush, I draw his focus back to me." She said and Lucas protested but she said it was the only way "I might know of a place where we can get guns and explosives." I said and they all looked at me as I grabbed a phone book and started looking for the place "Check this out. The War Zone. I've been there once, it's huge. They got everything we need for uh, well killing things basically." I said and Robin spoke up "You think fake Rambo has enough guns there? Is that a grenade? I mean how is any of this legal?" She asked "Well lucky for us it is so... This place is just far enough outside Hawkins. As long as we steer clear of the main roads, we oughta be able to avoid cops and uh, angry hicks" I said "If we're trying to avoid angry hicks maybe we shouldn't go to some store called The War Zone." Erica said looking at us questioningly "normally I would agree but... We need the weapons, so I think it's worth the risk." Nancy said and Lucas agreed "Yeah but is it worth the time? It'll take all day to bike there and back." Dustin said and I got an idea "who said anything about bikes?" I ask and they all look at me "you got some sort of car we don't know about?" Steve asked "Well Steve it's not exactly a car, it's not exactly mine but... It'll do." I said and looked at Max "hey red, you got a ski mask or bandanna, something like that?" I ask and she nods her head and runs to her room. A few minutes pass and she returns with a Michael Myers mask. I put it on and we made our way out of the house and towards an RV where I climbed in a back window "that was suffocating." I said taking the mask off and everyone followed. I locked the front door. I started grabbing the wires under the steering wheel and started cutting when Steve got behind me "where'd you learn how to do this?" Steve asked as I worked "when all the other dads were teaching their kids how to fish or play ball, my old man was teaching me to hotwire. Now I swore to myself I wouldn't wind up like he did but now I'm wanted for murder and soon grand theft auto so uh... I'm really living up to that Munson name." I said almost getting the thing started "Uh, Eddie I'm not sure I love the idea of you driving." Robin said and I looked back at her "Oh I'm starting this sucker, Harrington's got her, don't ya big boy?" I ask with a wide grin on my face and finally starting the car. We heard shouting from outside when we looked out the window, we saw the owners and me and Steve quickly switched places and he drove off and I sat at the table in the small kitchen and we drove off to The War Zone. 

Alice POV

When I woke up again, I was in his lair tied by vines to a chair "I have a request." I said looking at him while he had his back to me "Hmm?" He said and turned to face me "set the town free and I'll stay here for good. You can try and kill me as much times as you like" I said and he came closer to me "these humans are nothing but a pest. I have tried so many times to make you see that, yet you would sacrifice your life for them. Why?" He asks and I shrug "because even though they despise me right now, I still couldn't live with myself if they died." I said and his vines began to choke me "I'll just have to cut the weakness out of you, won't I?" He asked and I rolled my eyes "if it keeps my friends out of danger, do whatever you want with me." I said and a bat flew in and bit my arm. screamed in pain as another bat showed up and did the exact same "I may not be able to kill you sister, but I will try my best." He said as the bats feasted on my flesh. A few hours pass and Henry commands them to stop as my skin starts to grow back. He stands in the middle of the room where the vines latched into his skin and pulled him into the air. He was in a trance. 'I have to get out of here.' I thought as I struggled against the vines. Eventually I got loose and ran out the door. A few vines tried to grab me but while Henry is in his trance, they are weaker than usual. I ran all the way back to Eddie's trailer to hide for a few hours. I opened the door and quickly shut it. As I went to what I call 'my safe corner' and sat there just wishing all of this was over. I looked at the open portal "At least you're safe Eddie no matter how much you hate me." I said out loud and just continued to stare at the gate, falling into a dreamless sleep not long after that. 

Eddie POV...again

Steve parked the van at the back of the building "okay Dustin, Lucas you stay with Eddie." He said as the rest of them left "Hey uh bring me some Colt Python bullets too." I said to Steve before he closed the door and it was just me and Dustin and Lucas "what are they for?" Lucas asked me "huh?" I ask and he sighs "the bullets. What are they for?" He asks again and I shrug "for Alice if she needs more bullets." I said and he looked at me questioningly "are you seriously helping the enemy here?" He asked and I stood up "she's not the enemy Sinclaire." I said getting closer to him "I suggest you keep your mouth shut about her." I said glaring at him "you say that as if you're sure she'll help us and I gotta say after we just ditched her back there, I don't think she's gonna wanna listen to anything we have to say." Dustin said and I nod my head "I should have said something. I should have stopped her." I said looking down and he came over to sit opposite me at the dining table "don't beat yourself up over it, we'll find a way to make it up to her after this shit is over and done with." He said and I smiled "where would I be without you Dustin?" I asked and he shrugged "probably dead in a ditch somewhere." He said and the door flew open "your old friends are here." Erica said running into the camper with the rest of the group not far behind her "shit." I said "let's go, let's go, let's go!" Lucas said "I'm going! Sit down!" Steve said and we drove off. Sometime later we were in a field preparing for the big fight. Me and Dustin were making shields with nails and garbage can lids. The Sinclaire siblings were making spears, Steve and Robin were making Molotov's and Nancy and Max were busy with the gun she bought. "How's she feeling?" Dustin asked as I picked up the shield "light but durable." I said and shoved it into the air "deadly but reliable." I said bringing it back down "hear me now." I said in a deep voice "there will be no more retreating... From Eddie the Banished." I said and Dustin stood up "hey, you're really ready for bat-tle." He said and I looked at him weirdly and he laughs "you get it?" He asks and I raise my eyebrow "Bat-tle. B-A-T" he tried and I still looked at him weirdly as he looked down disappointed. I put my shield down without him noticing and tried to wrestled him to the ground "you son of a bitch!" He said and tried to get me on the ground as we had some fun. I stopped and he looked at me "Never change, Dustin Henderson." I said taking a few strands of my hair away from my mouth "promise me." I said and he smiled "I wasn't planning on it." He said, the smile never leaving his face "good? Good." I said and we went back to our shields "Hey Sinclaires, how are those spears coming along?" I ask looking at the siblings and Lucas puts his thumb in the air. "Here." I said throwing Dustin the bullets for Alice's gun "don't lose those." I said "I won't." He said as we continued to prepare for the big fight well the rest of them were preparing, me and Dustin were just mostly messing around.
