Crest was fine in the beginning but it got boring after the first day. There wasn't much to do in the port unless you had a job surrounding fish or water transportation.

The only interesting thing about it was the small colourful fish that swam around near the boardwalk, he assumed the fishermen thought no one would want to eat pretty fish. Other than that Venus did have a good time watching the water move around at first, it was smoother than he thought it would be, he had never seen so much of it in one place before. He did try to drink some, but Cymbeline quickly swatted his hands away from the water while saying if Venus wanted to try water they would find fresh clean water for him to drink elsewhere.

Once they got him some he decided he did not like the taste or texture of it, so he dumped out the water on top of the fish near the boardwalk before returning the bottle to the vendor. The fish would like it more than him.

But Venus mostly spent his time laying around in their hotel room, unless Cymbeline decided to drag Venus to go wherever Cymbeline wanted to go that day. Though he did write and send letters to both his dad and Flos on his own.

Going out with Cymbeline wasn't that ba+d considering Venus had rarely wanted to go anywhere since arriving in Crest. Cymbeline usually chose to go places where there weren't too many people around so they wouldn't have to wait in lines if they wanted food. Whenever he did want to go somewhere with lots of people Venus noticed they would often make way for him, even when the area was so tightly packed it didn't feel like there was room to move. On multiple occasions they insisted he skipped to the front of long lines, Venus felt bad but Cymbeline always pulled him along.

The hardest part of being in Crest was adjusting to the sleep schedule, and how even when he couldn't sleep at night he couldn't leave the hotel. Before Venus had seen Crest at night he assumed all of the night people just skulked around the streets after dark, planning crimes, or whatever bad people did. But from what he could see from the window they completely transformed the port. There were people everywhere, more than there were in the day. Strings with blue lights hanging from them bright enough to dimly light his room, he could faintly hear them playing music and he could smell something delicious wafting up from somewhere beneath him. Every once and awhile there would be loud laughter coming from somewhere. He couldn't help but wonder what they had to laugh about.

If the instructors hadn't specifically stated not to leave their rooms during and after sunset Venus would have gone out just to look around, not for too long or he feared he would freeze to death but just long enough to see what he was missing. He might be able to stay out for more than a few minutes, seeing how fast his body had adjusted to the cooler temperature of the Inbetween during the day. But he wouldn't risk getting caught or getting in trouble for it, so he stayed put in his room.

On days where Cymbeline wanted to leave the room and took Venus with him it seemed as though they came back to the hotel later and later, the last time they had gone out they got back to the hotel when some of the Night people were already setting up. He felt on edge when he had first seen some of them. They bumped into one in the doorway of the hotel. He didn't think he had ever seen someone so pale, or with such light eyes, his bright blue hair only grew on one side of his head and the longest jagged cut was only long enough to reach the tip of his jaw. Venus would be lying if he didn't admit he was startled by the man's appearance at first, but after he smiled and waved at them before continuing on, Venus found it hard to be threatened.

He knew that not all Night people were bad, that would be near impossible. He just never expected he'd meet one that wouldn't attack him on sight, let alone smile and then continue on. He felt bad for being startled in the first place.
