Cymbeline slept the day away while Venus did random things in their room. He wasn't sure what he was doing but rustling noises or loud cursing woke him every once in a while. When he finally rolled over to check the small clock in the room, it was six-thirty, they had a few hours before the sun went down. There had been a few things Cymbeline had wanted to do today, he wanted to talk to the teachers about why they were still in Crest when no doubt the Night soldiers were on the move, he also wanted to send the letter he wrote berating his dad for sending him here. But he couldn't find it in him to get out of bed. He laid there awake, eyes drifting around the room until they landed on Venus, who like always was sitting at the desk the hotel staff provided for them. He was probably doing something stupid, like writing letters to that random girl and his dad.
Just thinking about exchanging casual letters with anyone almost made Cymbeline nauseous, why would he want to talk to someone who only bothers him if he didn't have to?
He could feel small pangs of hunger bothering him already, he hadn't eaten much since they arrived in Crest, no more than he needed, no more than usual. He tried to ignore it, tried to close his eyes and go back to sleep, but the smell of watermelons was ever present in their room. He hated watermelons, their weird crunchy but soft texture, the feeling of seeds getting stuck in his teeth or throat whenever he tried to eat them and the practically non existent taste couldn't even make up for it. Venus kept bringing him watermelon slices and he didn't understand why, did Venus not know he hated them? It seemed likely based off of how little he knew about him, despite leaving his hatred of most things to the media who were good at spreading news about him quickly. Or it could just be Venus left him watermelons in a feeble attempt to ruin his days as much as he can.
He would still eat them, just to show that it didn't bother him, and didn't come anywhere near close to harming him, but that was also probably the reason Venus kept bringing them to him. Cymbeline sat up and took one of the watermelons into his hands, the wetness already bothering him. Before he took a bite he let the bad experience of eating watermelon wash over his brain, he quickly threw the watermelon slice under the bed. Roomservice would find it and if they didn't he would throw it out the window while Venus slept, he would hope with all of his might it hit someone on its way down, and leave a bad review before they left.
Throwing the watermelon under the bed still hadn't solved his hunger though, unable to ignore it for any longer Cymbeline rolled off of the bed just barely landing on his feet as quietly as he could. Clearly Venus had still heard him, Venus had turned his head to gaze at him with a curious look in his eyes.
Venus was odd to Cymbeline, he acted as if he had no magic at all flowing through his veins and yet he was able to do things people without magic could. Not once had Cymbeline seen him use strength to enhance his performance at school, even though it was clear he could do much better. Cymbeline had seen him carry boulders easily twice his weight with little to no strain. He didn't do anything with light manipulation to see in the dark, yet seemed to always know where things were even if they had been moved, and Cymbeline always watched him struggle with flimsy lighters even though his body ran hot enough he could likely control fire.
Perhaps he had been born outside the Light kingdom? He did have dark hair, which was rare for his family's empire. But if he had been born outside the Light kingdom it would be near impossible for him to adapt. Cymbeline would find out eventually, he always did.
They just kept staring at each other, Cymbeline had nothing to say, so he just turned and kept moving. The door closed behind him with a small bang. He was going to find himself some food, and if he came across one of the teachers he would harass them until they told him what the plan was.
