Chapter 12

From the night that Etienne and I are officially in a relationship, he never failed me. He is always sweet and he never fails to show me that he cared for me. Everything feels surreal.

Pag naiisip ko ang gabing sinagot ko siya, hindi ko makapa sa aking puso ang kahit kunting panghihinayang. Kasi masaya ako lalo na't hindi siya gumagawa ng kahit ano para may pagsisishan ako.

Masaya akong tinuon ang pansin sa mga dokumentong nasa harapan. Sa kalagitnaan ng pagbabasa, tumunog ang telepono na nasa aking table.

“Baby Abunjing bunjing, date tayo,” sabi niya. He finds out that... that's the name that I save in his phone number on my phone. And when he knows the meaning of it, he keeps calling me that. Abunjing bunjing means “Love of my life.” Ang cute!

“May trabaho pa tayo, Sancho Etienne. 'Wag kang bad influence.” Kunyaring naiinis kong tugon, pero gusto rin naman.

“Sige na. Minsan lang naman and today is our first month of being together,” pamimilit niya pa.

“How about we finish our jobs first and we'll date after? Kaunti lang naman ang dokumento na kailangan kong basahin and you only have to sign these,” pangungumbinsi ko sa kaniya.

As much as I want to spend my day with him, ayaw kong pumayag kasi baka masanay kami at maapektuhan pa ang kaniyang Hotel dahil sa kaniyang kapabayaan.

He sighed in the other line, a sign that he give up.  “Fine, but let's work together inside my office so that we'll finish it immediately.”

Pumayag na rin ako sa sinabi niya. Mas mapapadali kasi kami kung gano'n at gusto ko rin kasama siya habang nagtatrabaho. Lalandi rin para hindi malulunod ang aming bangka. Charize.

At 3 in the afternoon, we are able to finish the work. We decided to date in the mall. Manonood raw kami ng sine and I'm super duper excited because last time that we watched a movie in the cinema, kasama namin ang epal na si Yve. Ngayon, kaming dalawa lang!

We decided to watch the film The King's Daughter. It was all about the King who's hoping to achieve immortality, he captures a mermaid and steals her life force, but a discovery by his illegitimate daughter threatens to ruin the king's plans.

After watching it, I remember my papa, I know that he only wants the best for me but sometimes it doesn't make sense anymore. What he thinks that the best for me only hurt me.

Pagkatapos naming manood, we agreed to eat in Jollibee. We were walking holding other hands. We're not talking but we're comfortable in each other's presence.

We were about to come inside the Jollibee when someone called my name.

“County!” Hinanap ko ang boses at nanlaki ang mata ko nang makita ko si Zeus, hindi siya nag-iisa, he's with two men. Etienne's holds in my hand tighten.

Lumapit sila sa'kin. I can't still move. No, not now!

“She's your ex, right,  Zeus?” Kuya Hades said. I can see how his eyes twinkled, repressing his laughs.

“That explains why she looks so familiar. Move on na, Zeus. May iba na siya, oh,” Kuya Cupid added. He looks like he felt sorry for Zeus although I know that he's not. For sure they are enjoying this.

Hindi ako makipaniwala na ganito ang lang sasabihin nila. I thought they are planning to do something that I'm nervous about. I don't know what to say so I did just stay silent, hoping that the conversation will end.

“Sancho, right? Please take care of County for me,” Zeus said ignoring what he's companion said.

“You don't have to tell me because I will take care of her without you saying it,” Sancho said and pulled my hand. Palabas na kami ng mall at dumiretso sa kanyang kotse.

Binuksan niya ang passenger seat at pinapasok niya ako. Sinuot niya ang aking seatbelt na hindi nagsasalita at sinarado ang pinto pagkatapos. Umikot siya kabilang banda at sumakay siya sa driver sit at pinaandar ang sasakyan na walang kibo at hindi man lang ako nililingon. His both eyebrows are furrowed.

“Etienne, are you mad?” mahinang tanong ko sa kaniya. He seems angry, but I don't know if he's angry with whom. Sa'kin ba o 'yung sa kanina.

Nilingon niya ako saglit at tumingin ulit ang mata sa unahan.

“I'm not mad at you,” he answered.

“But you are mad?” Tumango siya. Napakagat labi ako, dahil siguro ito kanina.

Hininto niya ang sasakyan.

“Where are we?” tanong ko habang nilibot ang paningin sa labas ng kotse. Nasa labas kami ng isang malaking building.

“At my condo.” Tiningnan niya ako. Inabot niya ang aking kamay at dinala sa kaniyang labi. Pagkatapos ay binaba niya ito pero hindi pa rin binibitawan.

“Honestly, gusto kitang ipagdamot, County. Gusto ko sa'kin lang nakitingin ang mga mata mo. I want to be the only one to witness your smile and everything. Gusto ko akin ka lang.”

Hindi ako nakaimik, his words are too good to be true. I can't believe that I will experience this kind of situation. I thought this only happens in movies and books.

I've been reckoning what I feel towards him in the past few days and now I am certain that I'm in love, too in love with Sancho Etienne.

“I'm sorry if I'm too possessive, County. I know, that Zeus is part of your past but I can't help but feel afraid... I'm afraid that you'll realize one day... t-that he is way better than me. Especially that now, I know that I can't climb up from falling, I have fallen in love with you. I love you, County,” he conceded.

Tears are racing in my face. I'm extremely happy to hear it. He wiped the tears from my face.

“I-I love you too, Sancho Etienne.” I inhale to breathe. “Gusto ko ring ipagdamot ka. Gusto ko rin na akin ka lang,” I admitted too.

Ang saya ko. I can see his eyes twinkled with approaching tears because of glee. He cupped my cheeks and kiss me. We shared a kiss expressing our love for each other. Nang naghiwalay ang aming labi, hinalikan niya ang aking noo.

“I love you,” he murmured.

“I love you, too” I smiled at him.
