☁️Nemesis x Doctor!Reader☁️

It's quite lonely in the umbrella lab, but that's why the scientists gave me the job of talking to the tyrants so they understand english, my favorite one was Nemesis. He was wrapped head to toe with black plastic wrap so I never knew what he exactly looked like but he was nice to me, he would use his tendril to help pick up paper work that I would accidentally dropped, he would growl at my coworkers if they talked behind my back and most importantly he'd be the first to reach me incase something got out.

I was on my way to visit his cell when I noticed his crate being moved "What are you doing?" I questioned as I ran up to the crate to prevent it from moving "He's ready to go Dr. Y/N, you have a new tyrant to work with so go do that." The doctor said trying to move forward "B-But I just started teaching him numbers!" He shook his head. 

"It's unnecessary, he can just break things that need a code." I shook my head "N-No please." He let out a frustrated sigh "I'm sorry Ms. L/N but he needs to go!" There was a slam from the inside of the crate and the doctor huffed "He's being shipped out now, there must be no more delays, understood?" I stepped aside and nodded "Now get going, I'll see you later." 

I entered my office and noticed a box on my desk, I opened it and realized it was a timer box thing that was already counting down "A week and 2 days? A week and 2 days until what?" I questioned but set it next to my desktop and went to work.

"Hello Mr X, my names Y/N. I'm [insert age] and I enjoy [insert hobbies]" the Tyrant sat there watching me, "Hold on your fadora is crooked." I got up on my desk and fixed his hat and jacket real quick then sat back down, his chip changed from a dal Grey to a Green for a quick second "I'm just gonna carry a casual conversation so you can get use to English and perhaps learn some words, okay?" He nodded his head and I gave a depressed sigh as I remembered Nemesis would tap the desk to give me a yes. "My apologies for not being so enthusiastic today, I seemed to accidentally grow attached to another tyrant here, but he was sadly sent out to do his commands." 

I turned to my desk top and started to check my email "I swear I get to much junk mail sometimes, it's always spam from a website I signed into once or a store I signed up for a membership." I started a random conversation, of course he didn't answer back but it was nice that he listened. 

Soon he was pulled away for experiments and I left to go take a short nap.

*A week later* 

Everyday was weirder and weirder, each day I found a flower on my desk, and small things like a necklace, bracelets, rings, etc. Also the box only had 2 days until what I assume opens? Besides that I miss Nemesis so much, to much to be honest. I haven't been given updates on his mission so I don't know if he's even alive at this point, I know it's weird to get attached to a tyrant but he was much more intelligent and calmer then the others, he'd actually talk back and sure it was broken words but it was better then nothing.

I sat at my desk eating my lunch, it wasn't nothing special just something I scooped up from the lunch room but I needed to keep my energy up incase a outbreak happens, but that didn't seem to help since I rest my head on my desk and nodded off because when I awoke the room was dark and the emergency lights were on as the speakers boom. 

"Subject Licker has escaped containment, please go to the nearest safety room until our security apprehend the beast." I sat there trying to process but I froze when I heard a growl from the corner of the room, I slipped underneath my desk and hid as I heard it's claws click against the ground. I held my air in my throat as I prayed silently for it to go away. 

During these moments Nemesis would always escort me to the safety rooms or wait with me, if anything even dared to touch me he'd kill it no matter what they had told him, if it hurts me he'll kill it, if it makes me uncomfortable he'll break it's legs, if someone upset me he'd scare them until they literally shit themselves. The last part made me giggle which caused me to freeze as I hear a shriek and the desk was clawed in half.

I quickly scooped up the box and sprinted out of the room, I ran down the halls screaming for security but no one replied, I ran into the experimental room and closed the door, the beast clawed and scratched which made me jump away and cry, the thing soon broke open the door and lunged at me when something suddenly grabbed it by its exposed brain and crushed it. 

I slowly looked up to see Mr. X standing there, he threw the thing aside and helped me up "Hello Mr X, thank you for the assistance but I must let the lab know that the creature is now unable to be experimented on." He looked down at the box "Oh, um I don't know what this is, when Nemesis left it just showed up on my desk and started counting down, I don't know why but I wanna see what happens." His chip flickered a green and the box opened.

"What the?" I questioned as I looked inside, I let out a gasp as I picked up a picture of the first time meeting Nemesis, I sat down on a chair and smiled. 

It was my first day and no one wanted to talk to him so I accepted the offer since it was offering double pay, at the time he had on a hospital gown and a sack over his face, tentacles were swaying behind him and he stood behind a glass wall. I set my hand on it which resulted with him doing the same. I looked so fascinated by his being which made me giggle looking at the picture. 

I noticed another picture which showed me teaching him ABCs, I held up a chart as I guided him through the alphabet, another picture showed me asleep at my desk with him standing behind me almost guarding me, another picture of was me showing him a teddy bear that I use to have as a baby and him gently holding it.

I sniffled as tears steamed down my face, I missed him a lot but I know I'll never see him again, he's a bioweapon and yet, I grew attached to him..

The timer finally hit zero. The last remaining seconds I watched as it switched, I felt empty cause now what do I do? I leaned back in my chair as I prepared to return to work but that didn't last long when there was suddenly a knock at the door "Come in!" I called out to activate the sliding door the moment It opened I nearly fell out of my seat when I noticed that it was him.. "N-Nemesis? How, when, what?" I questioned. 

I jumped out of my chair and threw myself at him to which he immediately caught and hugged me, I cried into the plastic wrap and whimpered "You jerk, you planned the box out didn't you?" He looked down and in broken words he said

"I came back for you."
