At a castle in Italy in the year 1418. A man named Carlo was talking to his master. Now the question is his "master" cause he's like below him or was this THE master? It's always hard to tell when they're talking about what but considering it went back in time for a reason it's usually by no coincidence. And considering they're trying to take Buffy down that's probably they're talking about a master at all. They speak lots of Italian so I'll just skip ahead to the English translation. Carlo was talking to someone named Moloch. He greets him. Carlo my dear one he says as Carlo kneels in front of him. His master comes over with his demonic face putting a hand on his head. To Carlo he asks if he loves him that he gives him everything and all he wants is his love. You have my love Carlo tells him before the master snaps his neck.
At the inside of a church following that a priest talks to a bunch of monks. He tells them that the devil was out in the world. Of course worried that as this being the devil out that he's doing bad things. The only time the devil is doing anything good is when he's Lucifer Morningstar detective and helping those in hell to get to heaven and he's a dashing good looking guy that finds love and tries to prove to everyone that he's not really all that evil. And he owns a night club and a fantastic singer. And in same way makes peoples hopes wishes and dreams come true when he asks them what they truly desire. And tried to become G-D. But still people try to kill him and still people think he's evil and he still rubs some people the wrong way. Like when he unintentionally wins the heart of one of the other officers ex wife but he helps him get into heaven when he's lost in a lost world which helps the devil find his real purpose so that he's not stuck taking care of hell for the rest of his life all alone.
But anyways that devil is not this devil and boy would that had been a show to see. The devil fighting the devil the devil fighting himself but you know not himself. Fighting your demons they say that would've been something and it was in an episode toward the end when Lucifer was trying to find her true purpose after he tried to be G-D and ended up making his brother be G-D. But he and and Chloe went into someone's hell where it was like an episode of Looney Toons where he had to help the guy get out of heaven and his villain was the devil but more like the devil other people know with pitchfork and horns and a tail and red and not British. Also that one was fat the quote is that handsome devil not the ugly fat devil. And while I mean the actor that plays him in Supernatural isn't ugly or bad looking he's also not drop dead gorgeous and the devil there in Lucifer has expensive taste the devil wears Prada after all.
And the monks and the priest make a circle. They call this devil the corruptor as he comes forward and people fall under his power they feel they have enough time to do whatever it is that they were trying to do. They thought there was enough time to bind him and insisted on forming a circle. Sure the devil is trying to kill you but of course there's always enough time to make a circle in order for whatever spell you're trying to do works because you can't properly do a spell without forming a circle for some reason or another. They chant in a circle around him while the priest reads from a big book. He says by the power of the circle of kayless. The demon master is at first happy as he straightens Carlo's body but then he realizes in surprise that something is very wrong. As the monks and priest do their spell thing the evil villain angrily screams no into the sky. They do this until he bursts into a million pieces then his ashes and particles fall into the box as the priest closes the book and locks it into a box.
Flashforward to present day. There we were (outfit 27) were in the library doing some kind of book scanning thing. Buffy pulls the lid off the box that contained that very same book. Buffy blows dust off the top. Giles tells her that he hadn't gone through the new books yet. And today right now we had a bunch of computer people in here a guy named Dave was in there helping on the books. Buffy told Dave to put in Willow's pile of books. Wait. I take it from him. Hold. Buffy says. Any time I told them to wait it would need to be checked later for how dangerous the book might be. Sorry this is just a special copy and the special normally one of kind books come to me in my pile. Just until we can get it looked over. When I'm done examining it you can take it and skim it. Scan says the computer teacher Ms. Calendar. Oh yes. Giles says back to her although sarcastically. Oh I know our ways are strange to you but you'll meet us in the 20th century soon and with 3 years to spare she tells him. And then they went at it.
