As I got there, I found something that made my heart skip a beat. As I scrambled backward, trying not to scream as my eyes fixed on a pool of blood that led to the body of the dead man, I screamed. The body was filled with scratches, the face was unrecognisable, I was about to puke due to the scene in front of me. Gathering up the very little courage I had, I called the police and before I knew it, they were here.  An officer walked up to me and asked, "Miss are you alright?".

"No sir, I'm not alright. I had come here to visit my dead parents and..." I stuttered.

"I'm so sorry Miss. We'll need you to come to the police station for a small investigation" he said.

"The police station? Okay but before that can I make a phone call?" I asked.

"Sure..." He said.

I called Hannah and told her that I'd be home late because of work. I didn't want to worry her so I decided not to tell her until I got home. I stepped foot into the police station and this time I was terrified. I couldn't get rid of that image from my mind.

"Miss? Miss? Are you alright?"

"No sir... I'm terrified" I replied, who wouldn't be?.

The officer then proceeded with the investigation. After I had told him everything I knew, he replied with a "Sorry you had to go through that". Gosh I just realised how pitiful I am...

"You can leave now, Miss but you'll have to cooperate with us when needed," said the officer. "I understand," I said. No, I didn't understand. I didn't find the need for me to come back to a place like this, ever again. I hated everything about it, absolutely everything. I had to call Hannah to pick me up and when she arrived, she was so worried that she couldn't stop asking me questions.

"What happened Emma? Did they do anything to you?" She asked,

Before I could reply she asked me, "You look pale, why did they bring you to the police station? And why the hell did you not tell me? She said, "Calm down Hannah. Look at me, I am completely alright. I'll tell you everything in the car but first, let's get out of this place" I said, unsure she nodded.

(In the car)

"Spit it out Emma!" commanded Hannah.

"So I was visiting my parents, and I spotted a dead body. God, why is life so cruel to me?" I said.

"What?" She exclaimed while stepping on the breaks and pulling the car aside. "Tell me everything that happened," she said.

I told her everything, including how taken aback I was at the police station and how cold everything got around me.

"Are you okay Emma?" she asked.

"Oh I'm definitely alive and breathing but I can't think of anything other than that dead body so now, please start driving, I would love to get some sleep" I said. I totally regretted what I just said but jeez I'm totally sick of people asking me "Are you alright?". Of course, I wasn't alright, I just came across a pool of blood and a stupid dead body for God's sake!

Hannah didn't say anything after that and the car was filled with silence. I wanted to apologize to her, but I could barely speak since I was very much intrigued by the question of "Why is life so cruel to me?". As soon as I got home, I went to the fridge and took a sip of water. I then said to Hannah,

"I'm sorry Hannah but it's just that I was sick of people asking me if I was alright because I'm not at all alright. That scene is stuck in my head and I can't forget it for heaven's sake!"

"I know Emma, How about this? You can sleep in my room tonight. She said,

"Sarangheyo, chubby cheeks" I screamed while pulling her cheeks.

"Oww, It hurts" she said as I stopped immediately, feeling guilty.

"That's what you get for acting cute?" I replied with a smirk on my face. We both went to the dining table and started having our dinner. I remained quiet the entire time, thinking about everything that had happened today. Slowly, everything around me began to become blurry, my head started spinning and my body felt really light. I could hear Hannah, screaming "Emma? Emma!!!!!" before I blacked out.
